Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchPC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To turn off the NVIDIA overlay, first check whether your PC has NVIDIA App or the older GeForce Experience: their settings paths differ. In NVIDIA App, open Settings and look under Features for the overlay controls; use the label shown in your installed version. In GeForce Experience, NVIDIA documents the path Settings > General > Share, where you can switch Share off. If you only want to stop Alt+Z from opening the overlay, change its shortcut instead of disabling the overlay.
Identify which NVIDIA app you have
Open the NVIDIA software on your PC and check its name. NVIDIA App is the current app; GeForce Experience has a separate, older settings path. Do not assume a menu instruction for one applies to the other.
Turn off the overlay in NVIDIA App
- Open NVIDIA App.
- Open Settings and look under Features for the overlay controls.
- Use the on/off control displayed in your installed version to disable the overlay.
NVIDIA’s release highlights place overlay-related settings in Features, but the official material cited here does not establish the exact current label or click sequence for a global on/off switch. Labels and controls may vary by version, so follow what your app displays rather than looking for a guaranteed wording. NVIDIA describes the overlay entry point as pressing Alt+Z or clicking the button at the top right of the NVIDIA App window (NVIDIA App release announcement, Nov. 12, 2024; see also NVIDIA App release highlights).
Turn off the overlay in GeForce Experience
- Open GeForce Experience.
- Go to Settings > General > Share.
- Switch Share off.
This is NVIDIA’s documented GeForce Experience route; it is not the NVIDIA App menu path. NVIDIA also documents changing the shortcut under Settings > Keyboard shortcuts in GeForce Experience (NVIDIA GeForce Experience guide).
#1 Best Overall
- AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
- OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
Stop Alt+Z without disabling the overlay
If you want the overlay’s other features but do not want Alt+Z to open it, change the overlay hotkey in its settings. In NVIDIA App, open the overlay settings and customize the shortcut; in GeForce Experience, use Settings > Keyboard shortcuts. NVIDIA identifies hotkey customization as an overlay setting, but the exact labels can differ by app and version (NVIDIA App release announcement). Changing the shortcut prevents that key combination from invoking the overlay; it does not itself switch the overlay feature off.
Hide notifications but keep the overlay
If the unwanted part is notifications rather than the overlay itself, look for notification controls in the overlay’s settings. An NVIDIA Developer Forums response dated Aug. 18, 2025 recommends adjusting them from settings opened within the overlay, but this is secondary, version-dependent guidance; the exact menu may differ (NVIDIA Developer Forums response).
