To run wedding venue tours as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send an encoder feed to YouTube and set the encoder or cloud playout service to repeat your ordered playlist. YouTube does not turn an ordinary uploaded playlist into a live stream by itself. Before going public, verify the channel, clear rights for everything in the videos, test the connection and preview the broadcast in Live Control Room. Keep an independent recording if you need a dependable archive: a YouTube stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured.
Choose how the playlist will reach YouTube
YouTube Live receives a feed from an encoder. You can produce that feed with software on a venue computer, a standalone hardware encoder, or a cloud playout service. YouTube’s encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for streaming prerecorded videos 24/7; the options differ in setup and operation, and YouTube’s listing does not establish that all services have the same features or reliability. For a venue already comfortable managing streaming software, local encoding may be enough. If you want to avoid leaving a venue computer running for continuous playout, compare cloud services and their current controls, terms and pricing directly. Prepare the channel and venue-tour playlist
Enable live streaming before launch day
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start. See YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements.

Arrange and clear the videos
Put the tours in the order prospective couples should see them, then configure your encoder or service to repeat the playlist. Looping controls vary by product, so consult the chosen software or service’s current documentation rather than assuming YouTube Studio will loop the files for you.
Review every video before scheduling the broadcast. Venue tours can include background music, artwork, photographs and identifiable people. You need rights for the material’s use in a live broadcast, plus appropriate releases or permissions for recognizable people and private events as required by your contracts and applicable law.

Create the YouTube Live broadcast and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream, then enter its title, description, visibility and other metadata. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance covers sending an encoder feed.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder. Use the values shown for the broadcast you created. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it can send a feed to your broadcast. Do not publish it or include it in public screenshots.
- Configure the playlist and output. Select the ordered venue-tour playlist and enable repeat or loop in the chosen encoder or cloud service. Confirm that the output uses the stream details for the intended YouTube broadcast.
- Set a sustainable encode. YouTube recommends H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; it recommends RTMPS for an encrypted connection. Choose resolution and bitrate based on the venue’s tested upload capacity, not merely the source video’s maximum quality. Follow YouTube’s current live encoder settings for the selected resolution and format.
Test the stream and monitor it
Test before making the broadcast public. YouTube advises allowing setup time, starting the encoder before a scheduled event, checking the preview in Live Control Room, verifying playback from the channel or watch page and on mobile, and monitoring audio and video during the stream. Its guidance recommends upload capacity with 20% headroom above the total streaming bitrate. For example, if the configured stream bitrate is 8 Mbps, aim for at least 9.6 Mbps of stable upload capacity; leave additional margin if other devices share the connection. - Confirm the correct playlist starts and advances in the intended order.
- Check that the picture is visible and audio is audible without clipping or unexpected silence.
- Verify playback on a phone as well as a desktop browser.
- Keep an eye on the encoder and Live Control Room instead of assuming a successful start guarantees an uninterrupted broadcast.
Clear music and other rights before streaming
YouTube’s livestream terms require the content provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including applicable music licensing rights. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match that remains can lead to interruption or termination. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner’s Content ID system needs your channel allowlisted. Resolve that with the rights owner before launch and confirm that the permission covers this specific recorded video and its live-stream use. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Do not assume that music licensed for an in-person wedding, a social post, or a different video use is also cleared for a continuous YouTube Live broadcast. Keep documentation of permissions and review the full playlist, including music audible in the background.
Plan for the archive separately
YouTube can automatically archive streams under 12 hours, but says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast is therefore not a dependable way to preserve a complete on-demand master. If you need a reliable copy, record the source videos or make an independent local recording. If a YouTube archive is required, end and restart the broadcast at intervals under 12 hours; doing so interrupts one continuous live session. Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Verify the channel and check its live-streaming status. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours before the planned start.
- The encoder connects but the broadcast is unstable: Test the venue’s upload connection, reduce the output bitrate or resolution to a level it can sustain, and retain YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom.
- The wrong content appears or the playlist stops: Confirm the encoder is using the correct stream key and that playlist repeat is enabled in the encoder or service. Loop behavior is product-specific.
- The stream is interrupted after a rights match: Remove or replace the matched material only after confirming you have the necessary rights; if you do have permission, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting for the channel.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Do not rely on YouTube to capture a stream longer than 12 hours. Keep an independent recording or end and restart the stream before that threshold if a YouTube archive is needed.
