If you want to try the feature, check your Chromebook’s available options rather than assuming a particular flag exists: ChromeOS flags vary and are experimental.
What rounded window corners change
The feature gives app windows rounded corners as part of a broader ChromeOS interface update. Google’s ChromeOS M132 stable-channel announcement described rounded corners on all app windows on Chromebook Plus devices. The ChromeOS 132 release notes also list “Rounded corners for Apps.”
These announcements establish the feature’s release context, not guaranteed behavior on every Chromebook, ChromeOS version, or release channel. Google’s documented scope names Chromebook Plus; it does not confirm compatibility for every model.
Google’s ChromeOS M132 stable-channel announcement was published January 22, 2025. Google’s ChromeOS Long-term Support release notes include the feature under ChromeOS 132; that page was updated July 22, 2026.

-
Open Chrome on your Chromebook and enter

Use the flags page’s search field to look for a rounded-corners or app-window option, if one is offered. Do not assume a specific flag is present: available flags can vary by device and ChromeOS channel.

If a relevant option appears, read its description and select an available setting only if you are comfortable testing an experimental feature. Follow any restart prompt shown on the page.
-
If no relevant option appears, there may be no flag available on your current device or software version. The absence of a result does not establish whether the feature is enabled another way or supported on a different configuration.

Google says ChromeOS feature flags are experimental, may not be enabled by default, and can cause hardware, software, or security issues. They are intended for local testing, not as a dependable end-user setting. See Google’s ChromeOS experimental-features guidance, updated December 18, 2025.
Is the feature limited to Chromebook Plus?
Chromebook Plus is the device category Google specifically named in its M132 announcement. That is the documented scope of the announcement; it is not proof that all Chromebook Plus models behave alike, nor does it settle support on other devices or later ChromeOS versions.

If you already own a Chromebook, check its current settings and available flags first. The feature announcement alone is not a reason to replace a working device. Google’s public release notes and announcement do not establish present-day, model-by-model availability.
Do you need Developer Mode?
No. Google’s guidance describes feature flags as an experimental testing mechanism; it does not make Developer Mode a prerequisite for checking chrome://flags. Developer Mode is a separate setting that removes protections, so do not enable it just to look for rounded window corners.

What if a rounded-corners flag disappeared?
Flags change over time and may differ between ChromeOS versions and channels. A flag mentioned in an older discussion may no longer appear on your device. Check the current flags page and the official ChromeOS release information rather than relying on community wording such as “Use rounded windows” as confirmation of current behavior.
A community discussion includes informal questions about a rounded-corners flag, but it does not establish current support or explain what is available on a particular Chromebook.
