If Samsung Multi Control will not connect your Galaxy phone and PC, first confirm that both devices are supported, then check Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, the Samsung account, and the Multi Control setting on each device. For a Galaxy Book, Samsung’s documented connection gesture is to move the cursor past the screen edge toward the other device and back. The cause of a specific failure depends on the models, software versions, region, and symptoms.
What Multi Control does—and which setup this guide covers
Multi Control lets you use a Galaxy Book’s keyboard, mouse, or trackpad across a Galaxy phone or tablet and certain other Samsung devices. You can move the cursor between screens and drag and drop content. Samsung notes that some functions may not be available on certain devices or in certain apps. This guide focuses on a Galaxy Book and phone or tablet that will not connect; phone-to-tablet setup without a Book follows a different flow.
Check that your devices are eligible
Samsung’s US and UK connected-experience pages currently list Galaxy phones and tablets running One UI 5.1.1 or later, and Galaxy Books released in 2021 or later with Samsung Settings 1.5 (Intel) or 3.3 (ARM). Availability and requirements can vary by region, device, and software release, so verify the exact models against the Samsung support page for your market: Samsung US Connected Experience or Samsung UK Connected Experience.
Do not apply those thresholds automatically to every Multi Control configuration. Samsung India’s instructions for controlling a phone from a tablet state One UI 5.1 or later, illustrating that requirements and setup can differ by region and device combination.

Check the required settings on both devices
Samsung’s US page summarizes the shared requirements: “Your Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tab, TV, Smart Monitor and phone must have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on, and be logged into the same Samsung account.” The UK instructions also specify that the devices should be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices.
- Connect both devices to the same Samsung account.
- Make sure Multi Control is enabled on both devices.
- Keep the devices powered on and near one another while connecting.
Find Multi Control on a Galaxy Book
Open Samsung Settings > Connected devices > Multi control and enable it.

Find Multi Control on a Galaxy phone or tablet
Open Settings > Connected devices > Multi control and enable it. Menu availability may depend on the model and software version.
Update the Galaxy Book apps and try the connection gesture
- On the Galaxy Book, open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates > Update all. Samsung recommends this path to update PC apps.
- Check for relevant device software updates on the phone and PC.
- With both devices on and nearby, move the Galaxy Book cursor past the left or right edge of its screen in the direction of the other device, then move it back in the same direction.
- Look for the cursor on the other screen. Samsung identifies the cursor appearing there as confirmation that the devices are connected.
If the setup is phone-to-tablet without a Galaxy Book
This is a distinct configuration, not the Galaxy Book connection gesture above. Samsung India’s guide specifies One UI 5.1 or later, the same Samsung account and Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Multi Control enabled on both devices. It also requires a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse connected to the tablet. If a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse will not pair
An accessory that will not pair is a separate Bluetooth problem; resolving it does not by itself diagnose a Multi Control connection fault. Samsung recommends this sequence for a Bluetooth device that will not connect to a Galaxy device:
- Put the keyboard or mouse into pairing mode.
- Remove its saved pairing from the Galaxy device, then pair it again.
- Restart the device and check for software updates.
- If available, run Bluetooth diagnostics in Samsung Members.
- As a later step, consider resetting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. This removes saved connection information, so expect to reconnect saved devices and networks.

What to record if the problem continues
Before contacting support, note the phone and PC model numbers, region, One UI and Windows versions, Samsung Settings version, and what happens when you try to connect. Also record whether the phone sees the PC or the PC sees the phone, and whether a Bluetooth accessory fails independently. These details help distinguish an eligibility or configuration issue from an accessory-pairing problem; without them, a particular root cause cannot be identified.
If Samsung’s relevant setup and Bluetooth steps do not resolve the issue, contact Samsung Support or visit a Samsung service center.
