On a Windows computer, connect and turn on the camera, open its drive in File Explorer, then copy the pictures from DCIM to a folder on your computer. If USB transfer does not work—or you prefer not to connect the camera—use an SD card reader instead.
Transfer pictures with a USB cable on Windows
-
Turn on your Kodak PIXPRO camera, then connect it to the computer with a USB cable that fits your exact model. Kodak’s Windows transfer instructions say to turn on the camera before connecting it.
-
Wait for Windows to open a window or show a new drive. If nothing appears, open File Explorer and select This PC. Look for a removable drive; its name can vary.
-
Open the camera’s drive and find the DCIM folder. There may be another folder inside DCIM containing the image files.

Transfer pictures with an SD card reader
A card reader is an alternative to connecting the camera by cable. Use the computer’s built-in reader or a compatible external reader.

If you need an external reader, check that it supports your card type and has a connector that fits your computer. Kodak documents using a card reader but does not endorse a particular reader.
Which transfer method should you use?
| Consideration | USB cable from camera | SD card reader |
|---|---|---|
| What you need | A cable that fits the exact camera and an available computer port | A built-in or external reader compatible with the card and computer |
| First step | Turn on the camera and connect it | Turn off the camera, remove the card, and insert it into the reader |
| Where to find pictures | The camera’s removable drive, then DCIM | The card’s drive, then DCIM |
| Model-specific detail | USB mode and connector may vary; check the camera manual | Confirm card and reader compatibility |
Kodak documents both methods but does not provide a speed comparison, so there is no established basis here for saying one is faster.

Check the manual for your exact PIXPRO model. USB settings and cable types differ: for example, the WPZ2 manual describes a USB mode for a computer or printer and selecting PC, while the WP1 manual describes USB settings and a micro USB cable. Those model examples do not establish a universal setting or connector for all PIXPRO cameras.
-
Find the model-specific manual on Kodak’s manuals page. Kodak says the model can be identified from the camera body, packaging, or settings, and advises checking its official site for current manual information.
-
If you can remove the card, try the card-reader method instead.

Protect pictures before troubleshooting the card
Do not format an SD card as an early troubleshooting step if it contains pictures you want. Kodak warns that formatting erases all data and recommends regular backups. Copy wanted files elsewhere before attempting to format the card. For supported card types and capacities, consult the manual for your camera model.
Does PIXPRO Wi-Fi transfer pictures directly to a computer?
Do not assume that every PIXPRO can send pictures directly to a computer over Wi-Fi. Kodak’s Wi-Fi instructions describe connecting certain cameras to a phone with the PIXPRO Remote Viewer app; its AZ652 article describes uploading photos to a phone or tablet. These are model-specific mobile examples, not general instructions for direct computer transfer.
