You can transfer an EPUB or PDF to a PocketBook by copying it from a computer over USB, or by uploading it to PocketBook Cloud and syncing the reader. Some models also offer Send-to-PocketBook or Dropbox. The best route depends on what your device supports and whether the book has DRM: protected files need authorization as well as a transfer.
Choose a transfer method

PocketBook lists EPUB and PDF among supported formats, including some DRM variants. A file extension alone does not tell you whether a book is protected. Check the instructions from the bookstore or library that supplied it.
Transfer a book from a computer over USB
- Locate or download the EPUB or PDF on your computer.
- Connect the PocketBook using a data-capable USB cable. The connector depends on the model; check the device’s port before buying a replacement.
- If the reader prompts you to choose a connection mode, select the file-transfer or computer option. Menu wording can differ by model, language, and firmware.
- Open the PocketBook storage on the computer and copy the book file onto it.
- Eject the reader safely from the computer, then unplug it. Find the book in the reader’s library.
If the computer does not show the reader’s storage, check the connection prompt and try another data-capable cable or USB port. A cable that only charges the device will not transfer files.
Transfer through PocketBook Cloud
- Upload the EPUB or PDF to PocketBook Cloud using its website, a supported PocketBook reader, or the PocketBook Reader mobile app.
- Connect the reader to the internet and sign in to the same PocketBook account used for the upload.
- Synchronize the reader, then download the book from the account to the device if it is not already available there.
PocketBook’s Cloud FAQ lists EPUB and PDF, including Adobe DRM variants, among supported file types. Synchronization features are software-dependent: the documented Aqua 2 manual limits reading-position syncing to EPUB and PDF, so do not assume every file type or reader behaves the same way.

Use Send-to-PocketBook or Dropbox if your model supports them
The PocketBook Era manual documents Send-to-PocketBook, PocketBook Cloud, and Dropbox as network-service options. These services are not universal across the product range. Check your reader’s settings or manual to see whether a service appears, and complete its setup before sending a book.
Handle Adobe DRM-protected books
Adobe DRM authorization is separate from transferring the file. PocketBook’s FAQ says Adobe Digital Editions is required to download an Adobe DRM-protected book to a PC, and an Adobe ID is required to read it. Copying the file to the reader does not bypass that requirement. Follow the bookstore’s or library’s instructions to authorize and transfer the title. PocketBook’s described purchase flow also requires the Adobe ID email to match the email on the PocketBook customer account.

If a copied book will not open, confirm that it was authorized for the reader or account. Do not treat the EPUB or PDF extension as proof that the file is DRM-free.
