Transfer from Android during Razr+ setup over Wi-Fi or restore a Google backup. From iPhone, copy selected data during setup with a compatible cable, or import supported iCloud data after setup. Keep the old phone until you have checked the new one: the available methods do not move every kind of data.
Motorola’s current help instructions are labeled for Razr Plus 2026, and its Razr family user guide also describes migration. Menu names can differ by model year or software version, so follow the prompts shown on your phone if they do.
Choose the transfer method

Before you start
- Charge both phones or connect them to power. Keep them nearby during transfer.
- Connect the Razr+ to Wi-Fi. For Android phone-to-phone copying, connect both phones to the same Wi-Fi network.
- For iPhone cable transfer, have a suitable data-capable cable ready and be able to unlock the iPhone and approve its trust prompt.
- For an iCloud import, sign in to a Google Account on the Razr+ and confirm the data you want is synced and accessible in iCloud.
- Do not erase, trade in, or reset the old phone until you have checked the transferred information on the Razr+.
Transfer from an Android phone
Copy data during Razr+ setup
- Turn on the Razr+ and follow setup to choose a language and connect to Wi-Fi.
- When Android Setup offers to copy apps and data, choose the old-phone transfer option and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Keep both phones connected to the same Wi-Fi network, then choose which apps and data to copy.
- When setup finishes, check important content on the Razr+. Merge duplicate contacts if needed.
Motorola says this transfer can include apps and app data, music, photos and videos, Google accounts, contacts stored on the phone or SIM, text messages and attachments, most phone settings, wallpaper, and call history. It does not copy some categories, including downloads such as PDFs, apps installed outside the Play Store, non-Google accounts, some non-Google contacts and calendars, and ringtones. Check chat apps and other app-specific content separately rather than assuming it moved.

Use a Google backup if the old Android phone is unavailable
During Razr+ setup, choose the option to restore from a Google account backup, sign in to the relevant account, and select the backup and data offered. The available backup contents depend on what was saved to that account; items that were not backed up will not be restored by this route.
Resume copying if you skipped it
If you skipped the transfer during setup, Motorola says to tap the Android Setup notification to finish setup. The current Razr family guide also documents restarting the copy process from Settings; follow the on-screen labels if your software version presents a different route.

Transfer from an iPhone during setup
- Charge both phones and start setup on the Razr+. Choose iPhone when asked whether to set up using another device, connect the Razr+ to Wi-Fi, and continue to Copy apps & data.
- Connect the phones with a suitable USB-C cable. Some older iPhones require a Lightning-to-USB-C cable. Sign in to a Google Account when prompted.
- Unlock the iPhone and approve its trust prompt. Select the content offered on the Razr+, then tap Copy.
- Keep the iPhone unlocked while copying. Motorola’s guide says, “If it locks, unlock it to resume the transfer.” A large transfer can take several hours.
- Check the selected content in Photos, Files, Messages, and other relevant apps on the Razr+ before wiping or trading in the iPhone.
Motorola says this cable route transfers photos and videos physically stored on the iPhone. It does not fetch originals held only in iCloud. Google Photos content becomes available by signing in to the same Google Photos account. Motorola also lists FaceTime calls and voice call history, iMessage effects, emergency alert messages, locked Notes, and the default wallpaper as items that do not transfer. Deregister iMessage after migration so new messages are not misdirected.

Import supported iCloud data after setup
Use this route for supported information synced to iCloud, including contacts, calendar events, notes, documents, and media. First confirm the desired information is actually available in iCloud. Motorola says that with iOS 16.2 or later, “Access iCloud Data on the Web” may need to be enabled.
- On the Razr+, open Settings > Back up or copy data > Get your iCloud data. The label or location may vary by software version.
- Authenticate with your Apple Account and the verification code, then select the data types to import.
- Start the migration and keep the Razr+ plugged in or charged, with a strong Wi-Fi connection.
- Check the imported information in its destination apps before deleting anything from iCloud or the old iPhone.
Motorola lists Google Contacts for contacts, Google Calendar for calendar events, Google Photos (iCloud tab) for photos and videos, Moto Notes for notes, Recorder, and Google Files (iCloud tab) for documents as destinations. If the photos are already backed up to Google Photos, sign in to that account rather than copying them again. Large sets of files can be imported in batches.

Check the result before erasing the old phone
- Open the apps that hold your important data and confirm recent items are present, not just older content.
- Review contacts for duplicates; Motorola notes that copied iPhone data is merged with existing data rather than replacing it, and changed settings are not overwritten.
- Check cloud-only photos and files through the relevant account or import route, since a phone-to-phone copy may not include them.
- Keep the original phone and its cloud accounts available until you are satisfied that the transfer is complete.
