To move data to a OnePlus 15, use Android’s copy option during initial setup, OnePlus Clone Phone, or restore an existing Google backup. Charge both phones, unlock and back up the old phone, then check that your important data arrived before erasing it.
Choose the transfer method that fits your situation

Prepare both phones
- Charge both phones, connect to Wi-Fi, and make sure you know the old phone’s PIN, pattern, or password.
- On the old phone, sign in to the Google Account you use and make a backup. Google’s Android transfer and backup guidance recommends preparing the devices before copying.
- Keep the old phone intact. Do not factory-reset it until you have checked the new phone and confirmed that anything important is present.
Transfer during OnePlus 15 setup
If the OnePlus 15 offers Android’s copy flow while you set it up, follow the displayed instructions to connect it to your old Android phone. Unlock the old phone when prompted, pair the devices as directed, and select the apps and data you want to copy. Google notes: “Important: Some of these steps may vary based on your device.” The precise OnePlus 15 screen names may therefore differ from instructions for other Android phones.
If you have a compatible data cable and the setup flow offers a wired transfer, you can use that option instead of wireless pairing. A cable is not required for the other transfer routes.
Transfer with OnePlus Clone Phone
Clone Phone is OnePlus’s direct migration option. Its Google Play listing says it can transfer data from Android phones to OnePlus phones without a network connection, and that supported data varies by system and Android version. The general QR-code pairing method is described in an official OnePlus manual for another model; it is not confirmation of the exact OnePlus 15 screens.

- On the new OnePlus, open Clone Phone, identify it as the new phone, and choose the source-phone type shown in the app.
- Install or open Clone Phone on the old Android phone and select the old-phone role.
- Use the old phone to scan the QR code displayed by the OnePlus, then follow the prompts to connect the devices.
- Choose the data categories you want to move and start the transfer. Keep both phones available until the app indicates it has finished.
The app listing names contacts, SMS, call history, calendar, photos, videos, audio, and apps, including data for certain apps, among supported categories. That does not mean every app or all of its data will transfer. Some apps may require you to sign in again or set them up separately.
Restore from a Google backup if direct transfer is not possible
During setup, choose the option to restore from a Google backup if it is offered, then sign in with the Google Account used on the old phone and select the available backup. This route depends on a backup already existing; it cannot recover data that was never backed up or synced. If the old phone is unavailable, Google says you need the Google Account and password associated with the backup.

Check the OnePlus 15 before erasing the old phone
After migration or restore, inspect the new phone rather than assuming that a completed transfer included everything. Check contacts, messages, call history, photos, videos, downloads, and any documents or audio files you rely on. Open critical apps and confirm that their accounts and data are usable.
- Sign in to apps again where needed; account-based or encrypted app data may require separate recovery or setup.
- For authenticator credentials, payment cards, and information stored only inside an app, use that service’s own backup, export, or recovery process if available.
- Keep the old phone until the content and services that matter to you have been verified on the OnePlus 15.
Only after those checks should you consider erasing the old phone before a trade-in or recycling. Google’s Android guidance likewise recommends confirming the copy before resetting the source device.
