Use the U.S. Treasury’s Daily Treasury Par Yield Curve Rates page for official daily nominal par yields, and its separate Daily Treasury Par Real Yield Curve Rates page for TIPS-based real yields. Both organize rates by observation date and maturity; the nominal page also offers CSV and XML data access.
Where to find Treasury yields
The U.S. Treasury’s Interest Rate Statistics page is the official starting point for its rate data. For daily nominal rates, open Daily Treasury Par Yield Curve Rates. For inflation-adjusted rates, use Daily Treasury Par Real Yield Curve Rates.
The nominal table covers short bill maturities through 30 years, with listed points including 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 20, and 30 years. The real-yield table lists 5-, 7-, 10-, 20-, and 30-year maturities. Treasury’s nominal rates page provides a CSV download and XML feed for transferring the data into a spreadsheet or recurring import.
How to save a useful yield-curve record
- Choose the series. Open the nominal par yield curve for standard published Treasury par rates, or the par real yield curve when your question concerns TIPS-based inflation-adjusted yields.
- Record the observation date and maturity columns. Keep each maturity in its own field so you can compare points across one date or follow a single maturity over time.
- Export or import the data. Use the nominal page’s CSV download for spreadsheet work or its XML feed for repeatable data imports.
- Append observations rather than overwriting them. For a history, retain each new business-day observation alongside earlier rows. This is a practical record-keeping approach, not a Treasury-prescribed storage method.
- Label nominal and real series separately. If you chart both, distinguish the two series clearly and align their observation dates and maturity fields.
What a Treasury constant-maturity yield represents
Treasury describes the published figures this way: “Yields are interpolated by the Treasury from the daily par yield curve.” The constant-maturity Treasury (CMT) rate is therefore a point read from a fitted curve, not necessarily the yield on a specific outstanding security with precisely that much time left to maturity.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For the nominal curve, the inputs are indicative bid-side quotations for recently auctioned Treasury securities in the over-the-counter market. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York obtains the quotations near 3:30 p.m. each business day. They are quoted market indications, not actual transaction prices. Treasury fits a curve to those inputs and interpolates the published maturity points.
This distinction matters when tracking an investment. A 10-year CMT is a standardized curve estimate for that maturity; it is not automatically the yield on a particular 10-year note you own or might buy. Name the series and maturity when reporting a rate.

Nominal yields and real yields answer different questions
The nominal par curve is based on nominal Treasury securities. The par real yield curve is based on TIPS quotations and reports interpolated real yields at constant maturities. Use the nominal series for nominal par rates and the real series for TIPS-based, inflation-adjusted yields; do not combine or label them as though they were the same measure.
How to compare maturities and dates
For a curve snapshot, compare different maturities from the same observation date. To follow a point over time, select one maturity and chart its observations by date. You can also chart nominal and real series side by side, provided the chart labels the series and maturities distinctly.

The data supports these comparisons, but the table alone does not explain what a particular spread—such as the 10-year rate minus the 2-year rate—means or whether an inverted curve predicts a recession. Do not treat a curve shape as a standalone forecast without an appropriately sourced explanation of that interpretation.

Long-term charts need annotations because the historical CMT series are not continuous at every maturity, and Treasury changed how it estimates the curve:

- 20-year series gap: Treasury discontinued the 20-year CMT at the end of 1986 and reinstated it on October 1, 1993. There are no 20-year rates for January 1, 1987 through September 30, 1993.
- 30-year series interruption: Treasury discontinued the 30-year CMT on February 18, 2002, and reintroduced it on February 9, 2006.
- Curve method: On December 6, 2021, Treasury began using a monotone convex spline method instead of the quasi-cubic Hermite spline method. Treasury says rates calculated under the earlier method remain official.
When calculating long-run changes or building charts, show these gaps rather than filling them as if Treasury had published continuous observations. Mark the December 2021 methodology transition so readers can see that the estimation method changed.
