To track an online price, choose a tool that covers the store and country where you plan to buy, save the exact product listing and variant, then set a target price or turn on notifications. When an alert arrives, check the seller, shipping, stock, and checkout total before deciding whether the drop is a good deal.
Choose a price tracker that covers the store
Price trackers do not monitor every retailer in the same way. Start with the marketplace or product page you want to watch, then compare the tool’s history, alert options, and any exclusions such as shipping costs.

Set up a price alert
- Open the exact listing. Choose the intended size, color, storage capacity, or other variant. Similar listings can have different prices, and Chrome says Shopping Insights can show history and ranges for products with alternatives such as colors or storage capacities.
- Choose a tracker for that store and country. Use Chrome’s feature only where its listed requirements are met. For Amazon, Keepa names the locales it supports; CamelCamelCamel’s watch flow is also for Amazon URLs.
- Save or track the product. In Chrome on Android, Google documents tracking from a product page and viewing a tracked-products list. On desktop, Google directs users to the Shopping list. The exact controls can depend on the device and product.
- For CamelCamelCamel, start an Amazon watch. Copy the Amazon product URL, paste it into the service, select the relevant price type, and start tracking. Its help page describes email alerts after a price drop.
- Set a threshold and enable alerts where available. Keepa documents target-price alerts. Chrome provides mobile and email notification controls, and CamelCamelCamel documents email alerts. Pick a channel you will actually notice.
Decide whether the drop is a real deal
Use price history to judge a new price against the item’s past range rather than treating a sale label as proof of savings. Chrome Shopping Insights and Keepa both describe price-history features. History gives context, but it does not replace checking the offer you can buy right now.
- Confirm the listing is still the intended variant and is in stock.
- Check who the current seller is and whether the offer is the one the alert tracked.
- Include delivery charges and handling in your comparison. CamelCamelCamel says these are excluded from its tracked prices.
- Compare the final checkout total, not just the headline product price.
What to compare before choosing a tracker
- Coverage: Does it support the retailer, marketplace, and country for the product?
- History: Does it show enough price history to put a drop in context?
- Thresholds: Can you specify the price at which you want to act?
- Notifications: Does it offer email, mobile alerts, or another channel you will check?
- Price scope: Does the tracked price include delivery, handling, or only the item price?
Features, regional availability, and extension versions can change. Check the linked live product and help pages for current details before relying on a particular control or coverage claim.
