How to check daily spot Bitcoin ETF flows

Open a tracker with a daily fund-by-fund table, such as Farside Investors’ Bitcoin ETF Flow page.

Find the trading date you want and confirm the unit. Farside labels its figures “US$m,” meaning U.S. dollars in millions; for example, 118.8 represents $118.8 million.

Read the combined Total column. A positive figure is a net inflow; a negative figure is a net outflow. Farside displays negative values in parentheses.

Review the individual fund columns too. The total combines the funds listed in that tracker, and some can have outflows even when the group has a net inflow.

If you need to rely on a particular reading, compare it with dated issuer disclosures and filings. A tracker’s automated data may contain errors, and an issuer’s holdings value is not necessarily the same measure as a flow figure.
What a net flow measures
Net flow summarizes creations of ETF shares minus redemptions over a trading session. When creations exceed redemptions, the net is positive; when redemptions exceed creations, it is negative. In SEC-filed materials for the iShares Bitcoin Trust, authorized participants can exchange cash or Bitcoin for creation baskets and redeem baskets for Bitcoin or cash proceeds. This is not the ETF’s stock-market trading volume, nor a count of every investor purchase and sale. ETF shares can trade between investors without the fund creating or redeeming shares.
Flow is different from AUM and Bitcoin’s price
Assets under management (AUM) is the value of a fund’s assets at a point in time. Net flow measures creation and redemption activity over a period. AUM can rise or fall as Bitcoin’s market price changes, even if creations and redemptions are flat, so subtracting two AUM snapshots does not give a reliable net-flow figure.
Issuer holdings pages may show both the quantity of Bitcoin held and its calculated market value. BlackRock notes that public holdings data may differ from the accounting book used to determine net assets. Its iShares Bitcoin Trust product page is useful for dated fund information, but a holdings snapshot should not be mistaken for a flow series.

Read the group total alongside fund-level results
A group total is the sum of the funds included by a particular tracker. Farside’s table currently lists IBIT, FBTC, BITB, ARKB, BTCO, EZBC, BRRR, HODL, BTCW, MSBT, GBTC, and BTC. Check the ticker coverage before comparing totals between trackers or dates; different coverage can produce different group totals.
For example, Farside’s table for 6 October 2026 showed a group net inflow of $118.8 million in U.S. dollars. IBIT recorded $122.0 million and MSBT $7.8 million, while BTC showed an $11.0 million outflow. Those figures combined to the displayed total; the date matters because daily flows change.
How to choose and cross-check a flow tracker
A consolidated tracker is convenient for a quick daily reading because it places fund figures and a group total together. Before interpreting or comparing figures, check:

Date and update time: make sure the row covers the trading session you mean and note when it was last updated.

Units and sign convention: determine whether the figures are in dollars, millions, or another unit, and how negative values are shown.

Fund coverage: compare the included tickers, not just the group totals.

Data status and corrections: distinguish preliminary estimates from reported figures and check whether the publisher describes a correction process.

Source and accounting basis: use issuer disclosures for fund-specific information and SEC filings for fund operations; neither is automatically a daily net-flow table.
Farside says its table is generated automatically and disclaims liability for errors or inaccuracies. Treat it as a useful reading aid rather than an infallible record.

A net-flow figure describes activity through the funds included in a tracker. By itself, it does not establish why investors traded, whether activity reflects long-term conviction, or where Bitcoin’s price will go. For historical context, CoinGecko’s 2024 annual report recorded $35.2 billion in U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF net inflows during 2024 and $106.6 billion in total AUM at year-end; those are historical annual figures, not a current daily reading.
