Check the set’s product page on the LEGO.com store for your country. The availability label beneath the price is the clearest guide: “Retired Product” means LEGO says the set has left its current assortment and will not receive more stock. “Sold out” and “Temporarily out of stock” do not mean the same thing.
Check the set’s LEGO.com product page
- Search LEGO.com using the full set name or set number, then open the result for your country.
- Find the availability wording beneath the price. Match the product name and set number so you are checking the exact model.
- Check the order control as well as the status. A set marked “Retiring soon” may still be orderable; whether it can be added to your bag depends on the set, store region and current stock.
LEGO’s Canadian Help page describes these status labels, but wording and availability can vary by regional store and change over time. Use the local product page for the set you want as the current reference. LEGO’s explanation of LEGO.com availability statuses has the official definitions.
What each availability label means
| Product-page status | What LEGO says it means | What to conclude |
|---|---|---|
| Available now | Currently available to order. | You can order from LEGO at the time you check. |
| Backorders Accepted | Available to order, with shipping later on the stated backorder date. | You can place an order, but shipment is not immediate. |
| Temporarily out of stock | Not currently available to order; LEGO expects more stock. | This indicates a stock gap, not that the set is retired. |
| Sold out | Sold out; more stock may arrive, but there is no confirmed date. | You cannot currently order it from LEGO, and a restock is uncertain. |
| Retiring soon | The set will be retired very soon. | Retirement is approaching, but the label does not by itself mean the set is already withdrawn. |
| Retired Product | The set is no longer in LEGO’s current assortment, and LEGO will not get more stock. | It is retired from LEGO’s assortment. |
| Coming Soon / Pre-Order | The product has not yet been released; pre-order is available for products labeled Pre-Order. | This is a pre-release status, not evidence of retirement. |
Retiring soon is not the same as retired
“Retiring soon” is a warning that a set is expected to leave LEGO’s assortment shortly. It is not the same as “Retired Product,” and it does not tell you on its own whether an order is possible right now. Check the product page’s current order control. LEGO’s US retiring-soon category has shown products with the label and Add to Bag controls, but that category is a changing snapshot—not a guarantee that a particular set is available in every region or at a later date. See LEGO’s US Last Chance to Buy category.
If you cannot find the set
A missing product page is not conclusive proof of retirement. LEGO notes that an older set may have been retired and may no longer appear on the website. However, early-access products may require an Insider login, and future products may not appear until they are available. If the page is missing or the status is unclear, LEGO’s guidance for sets you cannot find recommends contacting support when you still need help.

Where to look after LEGO marks a set retired
If the page says “Retired Product,” LEGO’s definition is that it will not receive more stock. You can separately check authorized or established retailers and resale marketplaces for remaining inventory. Any third-party listing is separate from LEGO’s stock status, so confirm the seller, exact set number, condition and current availability before buying.
