To capture a website in Make.com with Microlink, add Make’s HTTP Make a request module, send a GET request to https://api.microlink.io with the target page’s url and screenshot=true, then use data.screenshot.url from the JSON response. Add HTTP’s Download a file module only if a later step needs the image itself rather than its URL.
Build the Microlink screenshot scenario

In Make, create or open a scenario and add the HTTP app’s Make a request module. Make describes its HTTP app as a way to connect to API services and applications that do not have a dedicated Make integration. See Make’s HTTP app documentation.

Add query parameters:

Run the scenario. In the returned JSON, map
data.screenshot.urlinto whichever later module needs to reference the image. -
If that later module requires an image file instead of a URL, add the HTTP app’s Download a file module and map
data.screenshot.urlinto its URL field. Make documents this module for downloading a file from a specified URL: HTTP app documentation.
Make’s HTTP documentation identifies Version 4 and notes that legacy users may select Version 3, so exact interface labels can vary by version. Follow the fields displayed in your module rather than relying on a specific screen layout.
Set the request parameters and choose the response
Use query parameters in Make
Entering the parameters separately in Make’s query-parameter fields is preferable to assembling a raw URL: Make can handle the encoding of the target URL, which itself contains characters such as slashes and query delimiters.

The equivalent request shape is GET https://api.microlink.io?url=<encoded-target-url>&screenshot=true&meta=false. If you construct the raw query string yourself, URL-encode the target URL so its characters are not mistaken for parameters in the Microlink request.
Skip metadata when you only need a screenshot
Microlink’s screenshot guide says a capture requires the target url and screenshot parameters. Set meta=false if the scenario does not need extracted page metadata; Microlink says this skips metadata extraction and is usually the biggest speedup for screenshot-only requests. Choose between the JSON URL and a downloaded file

Keep the JSON response when the scenario needs the hosted image URL and image metadata. Microlink documents
data.screenshot.urlas the screenshot asset URL and returns details including its type, size, width, and height. -
Download the file in Make when the next module expects image content as a file. Map the returned screenshot URL into Download a file.

Use Microlink’s embed option only if you need a direct image response for a context such as HTML, CSS, Markdown, or social tags. Microlink documents
embed=screenshot.url; it is not needed for the usual JSON-then-download scenario.
Adjust capture coverage and image format
Microlink documents nested screenshot settings, including full-page capture and output type. In raw query parameters, its guide shows dot notation such as screenshot.fullPage=true. Use a viewport capture when the visible browser area is what the next step needs; use full-page capture when the whole rendered page matters. Set the screenshot output type to the format appropriate for the receiving module. Check the Microlink screenshot parameters for supported options and exact parameter names.
Whether using Make’s separate query fields or a raw URL, ensure nested settings are passed as screenshot options and that the target URL is encoded when embedded in a query string.
What to expect from the capture
This workflow asks Microlink’s browser service to render the submitted URL and return a screenshot asset. The available documentation does not establish that every target site will permit access or render identically to a particular user’s local browser. Treat the returned image as the result of the remote capture, and verify it when the exact appearance or page content is important.

The next module cannot use the screenshot URL
Some modules need file content, not a link. Add HTTP Download a file after the Microlink request and provide the value in data.screenshot.url. Keep the default JSON response for this workflow; the direct embed response serves a different use case.
The screenshot is not full-page or is the wrong type
Check the screenshot options in the request. Use the documented full-page option when you need page coverage beyond the viewport, and set the output type using Microlink’s documented screenshot parameter. For a raw query string, use the documented dot notation for nested options, such as screenshot.fullPage=true.
The captured page differs from what you see locally
The request is rendered by Microlink’s browser service, not by your own browser session. The cited documentation does not guarantee access to every site or identical rendering across environments. Confirm that the target URL is reachable to the service and inspect the returned screenshot rather than assuming it matches a local browser.
The scenario takes longer than expected
If page metadata is not needed, set meta=false. Microlink identifies skipping metadata extraction as usually the biggest speedup for screenshot-only requests. Do not interpret that as a guaranteed completion time; the reviewed documentation does not establish one.
