Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy S23+, press the Side button and Volume Down at the same time, then release. For a page that continues below the screen, tap Scroll capture in the toolbar that appears. Find saved screenshots in the Gallery app. Samsung notes that some apps and features block screenshots.
Take a standard screenshot with the buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side button and Volume Down simultaneously, then release both buttons.
- Open Gallery to view the saved screenshot.
Samsung’s Galaxy S23-series manual documents this button combination. Press the buttons together briefly; holding them can trigger a different action rather than capture the screen. Button behavior is described in Samsung’s Galaxy device screenshot guidance.
Use Palm swipe to capture without pressing buttons
Swipe the edge of your hand across the display. If the gesture does not work, enable it at Settings → Advanced features → Motions and gestures → Palm swipe to capture, then try again.
Samsung says menu labels may vary with software versions. If you cannot find the option, search Settings for “Palm swipe to capture.”

Capture more than one screen with Scroll capture
- Open the webpage or other content you want to capture and take a standard screenshot.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture. Continue tapping it to include more of the page as it scrolls.
- Open Gallery to view the resulting image.
Scroll capture is intended for elongated content, such as webpages. It appears only when the content can scroll, and some apps or pages may not support it. If the toolbar is missing, check Settings → Advanced features → Screenshots and screen recorder → Show toolbar after capturing. The exact wording can vary with software updates. See Samsung’s Scroll capture guidance.
Edit, tag, share, and find screenshots
The screenshot toolbar can offer options to scroll-capture, write or draw on the image, crop it, add tags, or share it. Tags can help you locate a capture in Gallery. Samsung’s S23-series manual confirms Gallery as the place to check screenshots; it does not establish one file-system folder path that applies to every software build.

Troubleshoot a missing or blocked screenshot
- The button shortcut does nothing: Press Side and Volume Down together and release rather than holding them.
- Palm swipe does nothing: Check that Palm swipe to capture is on at Settings → Advanced features → Motions and gestures.
- Scroll capture is not shown: Make sure the content can scroll and that Show toolbar after capturing is enabled. Some apps or pages do not offer Scroll capture.
- The screenshot is blocked: Some apps and features prevent capture. Samsung’s Galaxy S23-series manual states, “It is not possible to capture a screenshot while using some apps and features.” There is no universal screenshot method for those protected screens.
Screenshot or screen recording?
A screenshot is a still image; screen recording captures motion and is a separate feature. Samsung’s support information lists S23 devices among supported model families, but availability can vary by model and software version. Some apps may block recording, and calls—including VoIP and video calls—are not recorded. Details are in Samsung’s screen-recording guidance.
