To sync Koofr between a computer and phone, sign in to the same Koofr account in the desktop and mobile apps. The desktop app syncs selected folders—not your entire computer or Koofr account by default. Upload phone files into a cloud folder that the desktop app syncs, and they can then appear in that folder on your computer when the desktop client is online.
Set up Koofr on your computer
- Download and install the Koofr desktop app for your computer’s operating system, then sign in to your Koofr account.
- Use the default sync setup. It creates a local folder named Koofr and syncs it with My desktop sync in your Koofr account. Files added to either side of this pairing are synchronized when the desktop client is online. See Koofr’s desktop synchronization setup guide.
The default sync covers that paired folder, not every folder in your Koofr account. Other cloud folders remain accessible through the account and mobile app, but they will not appear in the computer’s local Koofr folder unless you add a sync for them.
Sign in on your phone and move files
Install or open the Koofr mobile app and sign in to the same account. You can browse cloud files there and upload phone files to a folder you choose. For a manual upload, open the app’s upload controls, select the file or folder, and choose its destination. Koofr’s instructions cover uploads from Android and copying files in the iOS and Android apps.
To get an uploaded file onto the computer, choose the cloud folder paired with the desktop app—by default, My desktop sync. The desktop client must be online to download and synchronize the file. A file uploaded elsewhere in the Koofr account will not automatically download to the computer under the default setup.

Choose the right folder sync

To add a custom sync, open the desktop app, select Syncs in the left menu, choose Create new, select the local folder, choose its Koofr destination, and finish the setup. Koofr documents this process in its guide to creating new syncs. Do not select an entire system drive or operating-system folders; choose only the folders whose contents you intend to synchronize.
Automatically upload phone photos and videos
Automatic camera-roll upload is optional and configured separately on each phone. It sends media from that phone to Koofr; it does not itself mirror the phone’s entire storage to the computer. Choose a destination folder that is included in the computer’s default or custom sync if you want uploaded media to arrive there too.

Android
In the Koofr app, open Settings > Media upload and enable Upload new media files. Review whether to back up existing media, whether uploads should use Wi-Fi only, and which Koofr folder should receive uploads. The available controls are described in Koofr’s Android media-upload guide.
iPhone and iPad
In the Koofr app, open Settings > Auto camera upload, enable Backup photos and videos, and choose a destination if desired. Koofr’s guidance says that on iOS versions earlier than 26.4, automatic upload works only while the Koofr app is open. For Koofr app 4.0.0 or later on iOS 26.4 or later, background upload support is described, but iOS may delay or pause background activity. Enabling automatic upload on one device does not enable it on every phone signed in to the same account. Set it up on each phone from which you want media uploaded. Koofr explains this per-device behavior in its auto-upload FAQ.
Make files available offline on your phone
Being able to browse Koofr files in the mobile app does not necessarily mean they are stored on the phone for offline use. On Android, use Copy offline for a file you want available without a connection. Koofr describes this as a local app copy that updates when the device reconnects. See Koofr’s Android offline-files instructions. This guidance does not establish the same behavior for iOS.

What to check if a file does not appear
- Confirm both apps are signed in to the same Koofr account.
- Check that the computer’s desktop app is online.
- Confirm the file is in the cloud folder paired with the local folder you expect. The default pairing includes My desktop sync, not every cloud folder.
- If you expected camera-roll upload, check that it is enabled on that specific phone and that its destination is the intended Koofr folder.
Synchronization also means changes and deletions may be reflected across the paired locations. Treat sync as a way to keep selected folders aligned, not as an independent backup strategy.
