You can send a regional-language music-video broadcast to YouTube Live through Livepush by connecting your YouTube account or configuring the event’s RTMP stream key manually. Before starting, confirm that your channel is enabled for live streaming and that you have permission for every music and video element. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, and even licensed material may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.
What you need before setting up the stream
- A Google account and a YouTube channel with live streaming enabled.
- A Livepush account and a supported input, such as a webcam, prerecorded MP4, or encoder/device workflow. Livepush describes OBS and other encoders as options; no particular encoder hardware is established as a requirement. See Livepush and YouTube for Artists.
- Time to activate live streaming before the event. Livepush says activation for new YouTube accounts can take up to 24 hours; YouTube for Artists advises enabling and verifying first-time live access at least 24 hours in advance. Treat that as a preflight window, not a last-minute setup task.
- Music and video rights confirmed for the broadcast and, if applicable, its archive.
Choose how Livepush connects to YouTube
Livepush documents two YouTube destination methods. A connected account can retrieve the event’s RTMP settings automatically; manual setup uses an event stream key and avoids linking the channel to Livepush. Neither method changes YouTube’s copyright checks.
| Method | Setup | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Connected YouTube account | Authorize the account in Livepush, select a channel, and select or create an event. | Livepush says it can retrieve the event RTMP settings automatically. |
| Manual RTMP stream key | Create or schedule an event in YouTube Studio, copy its stream key, then enter it in Livepush. | Livepush says YouTube comments will not appear in Livepush Multi Chat, and you must configure each event again. |
Set up a connected YouTube account
- In the Livepush dashboard, open the stream under Live Input or Pre-recorded Live.
- Choose Add Destination, then select YouTube.
- Link the Google/YouTube account and choose the channel that will host the broadcast.
- Select an existing live event or create one. Enter the title and description, and choose the event’s privacy setting.
- Save the destination. Turn it on when you are ready to distribute the stream.
Livepush says the connected-account route can automatically retrieve the YouTube event’s RTMP settings. Interface labels and destination availability can change, so consult Livepush’s current YouTube setup guide if a label differs.

Set up YouTube with a manual RTMP stream key
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live event.
- Open the event’s stream settings and copy its RTMP stream key. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish or share it, and reset it if it is exposed.
- In Livepush, add or open the YouTube destination and enter the stream key in its YouTube configuration.
- Save the destination and enable it when ready to distribute.
Livepush’s manual-key guide notes that this method does not bring YouTube comments into Livepush Multi Chat and that each event needs its key configured again. Livepush’s destination documentation also lists YouTube as a one-click connection and says Custom RTMP is available from the Pro plan upward; check its current plan documentation before relying on plan entitlements. Clear music and video rights before going live
A regional language does not create a different copyright rule. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it identifies third-party material, it may place a placeholder image over the stream and warn you to stop using the content. If the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream; a copyright strike can also end it. Read YouTube Help’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Confirm permission for each part of the program
For every music video, confirm that the relevant rights holders or their representatives have authorized the intended live use, territories, and duration. A video may involve separate rights in its sound recording, composition, performance, and visual material. The cited YouTube guidance does not determine the scope of an individual license, so verify the actual terms with the label, distributor, publisher, or other rights holder. Owning a copy, giving credit, or restricting the audience by territory does not by itself establish permission.

Ask about Content ID allowlisting
YouTube warns that a stream can be interrupted even when you have a license if the channel has not been added to the rights holder’s Content ID allowlist. Ask the owner or its label/distributor representative whether your channel needs allowlisting, and get it arranged before the event. YouTube for Artists likewise recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music; see Going Live for Music Channels.

Choose an input that fits the broadcast
Livepush describes webcam input, prerecorded MP4 input, and a publishing encoder/device workflow. YouTube for Artists presents an encoder as an option for more customization and control, not a universal requirement. The cited guidance does not establish a required microphone, hardware encoder, or accessory. Choose the input based on whether the program is live camera footage, prerecorded music videos, or an encoder-fed production, then test the full path before the scheduled event.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
- YouTube is unavailable as a destination: Check that the channel’s live access is enabled and complete verification early. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours according to Livepush and YouTube for Artists.
- The connected route cannot select the intended event: Verify that the correct Google account and channel are linked, and that the event exists in YouTube Studio. If account authorization is unsuitable, use the manual stream-key route instead.
- The manual stream does not connect: Confirm that you copied the key for the correct scheduled event and entered it in the YouTube destination in Livepush. Reconfigure the destination for each event, as required by Livepush’s manual workflow.
- YouTube shows a warning or placeholder, or interrupts the stream: YouTube may have matched third-party content. Stop using the material if instructed, and contact the rights holder about permission and Content ID allowlisting before attempting another broadcast.
- The live stream finished but the archive receives a claim: YouTube may make Content ID claims after an archived stream ends. Review archive permissions separately with the rights holder.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep uploaded regional-language videos looping on YouTube around the clock rather than run a one-time event through Livepush, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. You are responsible for rights clearance on this method too; cloud hosting does not grant music rights or bypass YouTube enforcement. Start a StreamNeo free day.
