To keep meditation tracks looping on a YouTube livestream, enable Loop on an OBS Media Source for one file, or Loop Playlist on a VLC Video source for a playlist. That prevents playback from stopping when the file or playlist ends; it does not guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast. You still need a working encoder, network connection, healthy YouTube ingest, and music cleared for livestream use.
What “without track gaps” can—and cannot—mean
Looping addresses playback at the end of a file or playlist. It cannot remove silence or an abrupt edit already present at a track boundary, and it cannot prevent an encoder, computer, network, or YouTube interruption. Check these separately:
- Track continuity: file boundaries, playlist order, loop setting, playback, and audio levels.
- Encoder continuity: OBS stays open and sends the configured audio and video.
- Network and platform continuity: the connection and YouTube ingest remain healthy.
- Rights continuity: the music is authorized for the live stream and any archived replay, with Content ID allowlisting where needed.
YouTube’s Live Streaming API describes a broadcast and its audio-video stream as related resources and includes stream health information. A loop setting is not a substitute for checking that the platform is receiving audio.

Confirm live-stream access
YouTube’s getting-started guide says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to enable live streaming; it also states a minimum age of 16. Check your account’s current Live Control Room for eligibility before planning a broadcast, since access can be account-specific.

Clear livestream and replay rights
Use music you created or control, or obtain permission that covers the intended livestream and any replay. YouTube says it scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects copyrighted material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; if the material remains, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: for licensed third-party music, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Set up a looping stream in OBS
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room, set up a stream using an encoder, and follow YouTube’s instructions for the stream settings or key. YouTube’s stream settings guide explains the available controls. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share or expose it.
- Add a single media file. In OBS, add a Media Source and select your audio or video file. Enable Loop in the source properties. OBS documents this control in its Media Sources guide.
- Or add a playlist. Add a VLC Video source, add the tracks in the intended order, and enable Loop Playlist. OBS notes that VLC must be installed for the VLC source type to appear.
- Check the transitions. Play through track endings and the playlist wraparound. Look for silence, clicks, abrupt changes in loudness, or incompatible edits at the file boundaries. Looping restarts playback; it does not repair the source audio.
- Connect OBS to YouTube and test. Enter the stream key or settings as directed in YouTube’s setup, start the encoder, then check the Live Control Room preview and stream health. Confirm that YouTube is receiving audio as well as video, and listen to the output before relying on the stream.
Keep the encoder and connection running
With the local OBS method, the computer running OBS must stay on, the encoder must keep sending, and the network connection must remain available. A loop only repeats media while the source is playing; a computer crash, OBS stop, internet outage, or platform interruption can still pause or end delivery. The available YouTube and OBS documentation does not establish a universal 24/7 uptime guarantee or a reconnect configuration that prevents every break.

Monitor the stream and test your recovery procedure rather than assuming the loop makes the broadcast self-healing. YouTube’s LiveStreams API documentation includes audio and video health details; for example, noAudioStream is a documented configuration issue to watch for.
Choose where the stream runs
A local encoder such as OBS runs on a computer you operate. You can use an existing suitable computer or consider a dedicated mini PC if you want a separate machine left on. The cited documentation does not establish a minimum CPU, memory, storage, or network specification for this setup, so test the actual scene and stream workload against current OBS requirements before buying hardware. Consider reliability, power use, cooling, operating-system compatibility, and whether someone can monitor or restart the machine.

Troubleshoot interruptions and missing audio
- A track stops at the end: Check that Loop is enabled for a Media Source, or Loop Playlist for a VLC Video source.
- There is silence between tracks: Inspect the source files and edits at their boundaries. Looping cannot remove silence included in the media.
- The VLC source is missing in OBS: Install VLC, then check whether the source is available again.
- YouTube preview has no audio: Confirm the OBS source produces audio, the scene’s audio is routed to the stream, and YouTube reports a healthy audio stream. The API documents
noAudioStreamas a possible configuration issue. - The stream pauses or ends unexpectedly: Check whether OBS is still running, the computer is awake, and the network is connected; then inspect YouTube’s stream health and account status. A media loop alone cannot resolve encoder, network, or platform failures.
- YouTube warns about music or interrupts the broadcast: Stop using material you are not authorized to livestream. For licensed third-party music, confirm the permission covers livestreaming and replay, and ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel in Content ID.
