To block only one site, leave that setting on and change that site’s permission instead.
How do I stop Chrome notifications?
- Open Chrome and tap More (the three-dot menu).
- Tap Settings > Site settings > Notifications.
- Turn off the top-level Notifications setting to block alerts from all websites in Chrome.
Menu wording or placement can vary slightly between Chrome versions. Google documents this global control in its Chrome notifications help for Android.
How do I stop notifications from one website on my Android phone?
Keep the global Notifications setting on if you want to retain useful alerts from other sites. Then block the site that is bothering you using either of these routes:
- From Chrome settings: Go to More > Settings > Site settings > Notifications, find the site in the list, and change its permission to block notifications.
- From the site: Open the site in Chrome, tap the icon immediately to the left of the address bar (called Page info or View site information), then open Permissions and change the Notifications permission.

Can I unsubscribe from a notification already on my phone?
On some devices, you can swipe down to open the Android notification shade, then tap Unsubscribe on the website alert. Google notes that this option is available only on some devices, so use Chrome’s site notification settings if it does not appear.
Why am I still getting pop-ups after I blocked notifications?
Website notifications and pop-ups or redirects are separate controls. Turning off pop-ups does not revoke a site’s existing notification permission, and blocking notifications does not necessarily change the pop-up setting. If alerts continue, check that site’s Notifications permission separately. Chrome’s guides cover website notifications and pop-ups and redirects.

Why did Chrome remove a site’s notification permission?
Chrome may remove permissions from sites you have not visited for a while or sites it identifies as disruptive. To review permission removals, open Chrome and go to More > Settings > Safety Check. Google says Safety Check provides a way to undo changes it made. See Google’s Chrome safety and security guidance for Android.

A Chrome website notification by itself does not prove your phone has malware. If intrusive ads appear across apps or you notice other unwanted device behavior, Google recommends checking installed apps and using Play Protect as part of its Android guidance for unwanted ads, pop-ups and malware.
