How to start Ghosts Exposed
- Enter GTA Online during the event. Rockstar’s 2026 Title Update 1.73 notes list the Halloween period as October 1 through November 4, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced/Legacy.
- Check the current event or challenge display. Use the live in-game display for the Ghosts Exposed prompt, current locations, and this year’s reward details. Rockstar’s update notes confirm the event’s return but do not name a phone menu, call, map marker, or prerequisite to launch it.
- Find the apparitions in Southern San Andreas. The locations have changed for 2026, so do not assume that a map or location list from an earlier year is current.
- Photograph each apparition with the iFruit camera. Keep some distance: Rockstar warned in its 2023 event announcement that the spirits can disappear if you get too close.
- Submit the photos to Ghosts Exposed. Follow the activity’s in-game submission flow, then check the event display to see progress and any remaining locations.
Rockstar’s original description says players should “snap photos of them with your iFruit’s camera” and send the images to the team for GTA$ and RP. That describes the core activity, but the precise 2026 interface prompt is not specified in the current update note.

Where are the Ghosts Exposed ghosts?
They appear around Southern San Andreas. Rockstar confirms that Ghosts Exposed has new locations in 2026 but does not itemize them in the cited update note. For the current route, check the live in-game event or challenge display; a previous-year guide may point to locations that no longer apply.

For comparison, Rockstar’s October 12, 2023 announcement said photographing all 10 ghosts earned the Albany Brigham Ghosts Exposed livery, and it described GTA$ and RP for submitted photos. Those are details of the 2023 event, not a confirmed 2026 reward or count.

Ghosts Exposed is the apparition photography activity. Rockstar’s Vinewood Undead Collection support article describes a separate set of weekly challenges involving Survival, Taxi Fare, and Adversary Mode tasks. Completing those challenges is not the same as photographing and submitting Ghosts Exposed images.
