To share Bash history between open terminal windows, have each interactive shell use the same writable history file, enable histappend, then run history -a in the shell that has new commands and history -n in the shell that should import them. Bash does not synchronize open windows continuously by default; these commands transfer entries when run.
Configure a shared history file
Bash reads the file named by HISTFILE when a shell starts. Unless configured otherwise, that file is ~/.bash_history. When multiple shells use that same file, histappend makes each shell append its entries on exit instead of overwriting the file with its own history list. Add these settings to the startup file read by your interactive Bash sessions:
shopt -s histappend
HISTSIZE=10000
HISTFILESIZE=20000The size values are example choices, not Bash defaults. HISTSIZE limits commands kept in the current shell’s in-memory history list; HISTFILESIZE limits lines retained in the history file. Bash’s documented default for HISTSIZE is 500 commands after startup files are processed. Multiline commands can occupy multiple lines in the file, so file line limits and command counts are not always equivalent. See the GNU Bash Reference Manual: Bash Variables.

Startup-file behavior depends on how Bash was launched. Check your existing configuration and ensure the settings are applied to the interactive shells you use. If a startup file assigns different values to HISTFILE, set it to the same path in every participating shell; that file must be writable by your user.
Exchange commands between windows
Use the history builtin to move entries while both shells are open:

In the shell where you entered commands, run
history -a. It appends that shell’s new, not-yet-appended history entries toHISTFILE. -
In the other shell, run

For example, if Window A has new commands and Window B should see them, run history -a in A, then history -n in B. The imported commands join B’s history list and can be displayed with history. The option meanings are documented in the GNU Bash Reference Manual: Bash History Builtins.
history -r is different: it reads the entire history file and appends its contents to the current shell’s history list. For incremental exchange between already-open windows, -a and -n are the narrower operations.

Make sharing happen at each prompt
If manually running the two commands is inconvenient, you can arrange for history -a and history -n to run through a Bash prompt hook. This can make newly entered commands available to other windows after prompt cycles, rather than requiring you to remember to run the commands yourself. It remains command-driven, not guaranteed real-time synchronization: another shell imports entries when its hook or a manual command runs.
Prompt hooks affect interactive shell behavior and can interact with existing prompt configuration. If you automate this, preserve any existing PROMPT_COMMAND logic and test in a new terminal before relying on it. The Bash manual documents the history builtins, but does not prescribe or benchmark a particular prompt-hook configuration.

Why a command may not appear

The shells use different files. Compare
HISTFILEin each shell. They must point to the same file for this method to work. -
The command was filtered out.
HISTCONTROLandHISTIGNOREcan exclude commands. For example,ignorespaceskips commands beginning with a space, whileignoredupsskips a command identical to the previous entry. A command not recorded in the originating shell cannot be transferred withhistory -a. See Bash Variables. -
The history file cannot be written. Bash does not save history on exit if
HISTFILEis unset or empty, or if the file is unwritable. Check that the path exists as intended and that your user can write to it. -
You expected

Show timestamps in history
Set HISTTIMEFORMAT if you want Bash’s history display to include timestamps. Bash then writes timestamp information to the history file as well; those timestamp records also help delimit multiline history entries. This affects display and file records, not the transfer steps.
