You can share a Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides file with everyone in a Google Meet by sending its link to the meeting chat. Open the file, join the meeting from it or present it to the meeting, then select Share file to Meeting Chat. If some participants need access, you may be able to choose their file permissions before sharing.
Share a file with Meet participants

Open the Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide you want to share.

Join a Google Meet video meeting from the file, or present the file to the meeting.

In the file interface, open the meeting control and select Share file to Meeting Chat.

If participants do not already have access and you own the file or can modify it, choose a role in the permission dialog: Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.

Select Share in Meet chat. If you own or can modify the Calendar event, the file may also be attached to it. Deselect that option if you want to share the link in chat without attaching the file to the event.

What participants receive—and what access means
The workflow posts the file link in the meeting chat. Sharing the link does not automatically give everyone edit access: participants need a permission level that lets them open or work with the file. People who already have access keep their existing permissions; when others need access, the permission prompt may let an owner or authorized editor choose a role.

Viewer access allows someone to view the file, Commenter access allows comments, and Editor access allows changes. Your organization’s sharing rules may limit which roles you can grant or whether you can share with people outside your organization. Google explains these roles and work-or-school account restrictions in its document sharing guidance.
Why the option or a permission choice may be unavailable
Meet features and file-sharing options can depend on your Google Workspace edition, administrator settings, client-side encryption limitations, and age restrictions. Google lists joining a Meet call from Docs, Sheets, and Slides among Meet features, but availability can vary by account and organization. Check your administrator’s policies if the control is missing or a participant cannot open the link. See Google’s Meet feature availability information.

Why this feature was announced
Google Slides Team community manager Karan S. announced the file-link-sharing workflow on December 19, 2022, describing the ability to share a Doc, Sheet, or Slide link with meeting participants while using those apps with Meet. The current steps above follow Google’s help documentation rather than relying on that dated announcement for today’s interface.
