First identify which glasses you own: native map and spoken walking directions are documented for Meta Ray-Ban Display in select cities, not universally for displayless Ray-Ban Meta models. For either product, start by pairing it with a compatible smartphone using the Meta AI app.
1. Identify your Ray-Ban Meta model
The navigation setup depends on whether your glasses have an in-lens display. The official materials describe a map and spoken walking directions for Meta Ray-Ban Display in select cities. They do not establish the same built-in map experience for displayless Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

2. Pair the glasses with your phone
Ray-Ban says Ray-Ban Meta glasses must be connected to a compatible smartphone and the Meta AI app to operate. The app is also used to manage the glasses and their settings. Follow the pairing instructions for your model in the app and complete setup before checking navigation features. See the Ray-Ban Meta FAQs for the connection requirement.
3. If you have Meta Ray-Ban Display
Once paired, check navigation availability for your location in the Meta AI app or current Ray-Ban support materials. Ray-Ban’s Display FAQ documents viewing a map on the glasses and hearing audio directions while walking in select cities; it does not establish availability everywhere.

The feature has changed over time. Meta described it as a beta for select cities in its September 2025 announcement. In a September 2026 announcement, Meta described landmark-based walking directions: “Meta Ray-Ban Display will use the world in front of you rather than street signs in turn-by-turn walking directions, so they’ll tell you to turn left at the yellow house, for example, rather than ‘turn left at Third Street.’” Check the current app for the experience available where you are rather than relying on an older beta description.
4. If you have displayless Ray-Ban Meta glasses
The official materials cited here do not verify a native map-navigation feature or a current step-by-step method for routing directions from a phone map app through these glasses. Check the Meta AI app and the mapping app on your phone for options available to your model and setup. Do not treat Display navigation instructions as instructions for displayless glasses.

Any phone-based audio directions depend on the phone mapping app and the glasses’ audio connection. The cited sources do not establish exact current menu labels or a universal configuration, so use the apps’ current instructions rather than following guessed settings.

The navigation experience described in the official Display materials is for walking. Those sources do not establish turn-by-turn driving directions on the glasses. Follow local road-safety rules and do not interact with glasses while driving.
