Razer confirms that the Wolverine V4 Pro works with both Xbox and PC. For the exact first-time connection or pairing sequence, use the controller’s included quick-start guide: Razer’s product information does not provide a model-specific setup sequence. On PC, Razer names Synapse and a companion app for customization, including button remapping, deadzones, trigger actuation and onboard profiles.
Before you begin
Check the quick-start guide included with your Wolverine V4 Pro for the exact receiver, connection and control sequence. Do not use button combinations or firmware steps intended for the Wolverine V3 Pro, Tournament Edition, Ultimate or an older model; setup details can differ.
Razer’s Wolverine V4 Pro product page confirms compatibility with Xbox and PC and identifies Synapse and a companion app as customization tools. The product information available there does not specify a first-time pairing procedure, software version, Windows requirement or firmware workflow.
Set it up on Xbox
- Refer to the Wolverine V4 Pro quick-start guide for the model-specific connection and control sequence, including any receiver steps.
- Follow the guide’s instructions to connect the controller to your Xbox.
- Once connected, check that the controller responds in the Xbox interface or a game.
Razer confirms Xbox compatibility, but its product page does not publish the exact first-time connection sequence. If the guide is missing or the listed steps do not work, consult current Razer support for the Wolverine V4 Pro rather than trying instructions for another Wolverine model.

Set it up on PC
- Use the quick-start guide for the controller’s model-specific PC connection steps.
- After connecting, check that Windows or your intended game recognizes the controller.
- For customization, follow current Razer instructions for installing and using Synapse and the companion app. Razer does not specify a software version or a PC setup sequence on the product page.
- If you use Steam, Razer advertises native Steam support. Check the game’s controller settings if the controller is not responding as expected.
Razer advertises polling of up to 8,000 Hz on PC. That is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee that every connection mode, configuration or game will use the maximum rate. The product page does not explain the steps for enabling it, so check current model-specific Razer software or support instructions.
Customize controls and profiles
Razer says the controller can remap buttons, adjust thumbstick deadzones and change trigger actuation, with up to four profiles saved onboard. Use Synapse and the companion app according to Razer’s current instructions; the product page does not provide menu-by-menu steps or establish that every setting is available identically on Xbox and PC.

- Button remapping: Configure controls to suit your preferred layout.
- Thumbstick deadzones: Adjust how much stick movement is needed before input registers.
- Trigger actuation: Choose a shorter actuation for quicker inputs or a fuller pull for more deliberate control, depending on your preference and the available settings.
- Onboard profiles: Save up to four profiles, according to Razer, so configured control layouts can be stored on the controller.
The controller also has four removable magnetic back buttons. Razer includes interchangeable thumbstick caps and an interchangeable magnetic faceplate; these are optional hardware features, not prerequisites for connecting the controller.
