To set up the Logitech G Astro A50 X, connect Xbox Series X|S or PS5 through the base station with HDMI and USB, following the diagram for your console. For PC or Mac, connect the headset system to the computer by USB-C. The A50 X is designed to switch among connected systems using PLAYSYNC, and you do not need an HDMI 2.1 TV—but an older display may limit advanced video features.
Before you connect the A50 X
Choose the connection diagram for the platform you are setting up. For Xbox Series X|S and PS5, the base station goes in the HDMI path between the console and display, and the console setup also uses USB. For PC or Mac, Logitech specifies USB-C audio connectivity. The cable routing and port placement are not interchangeable assumptions from earlier Astro A50 generations: use the A50 X diagrams in Logitech’s platform setup guide or getting-started guide.
Connect the A50 X to Xbox Series X|S
-
Place the A50 X base station where its cables can reach the Xbox and display.
-
Route the Xbox’s HDMI connection through the base station to the display, following Logitech’s Xbox diagram for the correct ports.

Switch among Xbox, PS5, and PC/Mac
PLAYSYNC is intended to let the A50 X connect to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC/Mac and switch systems from the headset. Connect each platform according to its own A50 X diagram, then use the headset’s system switching control to move between them. Logitech describes this capability; the exact steps may depend on your connection setup, so refer to the official setup guide.
Will the A50 X work with a TV that is not HDMI 2.1?
Yes. Logitech Support says, “Your A50 X does not require an HDMI 2.1 TV.” The A50 X is backward compatible with older HDMI versions, but a non-HDMI 2.1 display may limit advanced capabilities such as 120 Hz HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). The available result depends on the display and connected equipment. Read Logitech’s HDMI 2.1 TV support FAQ.
Troubleshoot a black screen, flicker, or image artifacts
If the image cuts out, flickers, or shows artifacts, Logitech advises against older or poor-quality HDMI cables and recommends trying HDMI 2.1-certified cables. Its support FAQ points to the HDMI Forum Ultra High Speed certification program. This is troubleshooting guidance for video symptoms, not a requirement to replace cables in every setup. Check the cable routing against the A50 X diagram and consult Logitech’s cable and display FAQ.
