You can add an eligible Axis Bank Visa or Mastercard credit card to Apple Pay from the Wallet app on your iPhone. Open Wallet, tap Add Card, choose Debit or Credit Card, and complete the verification requested by Axis Bank. Apple lists Axis Bank cards on these networks in India, but the listing does not guarantee support for every card variant or account.
Which Axis Bank credit cards can you add?
Apple’s current list of participating banks includes Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards in India. However, Apple notes that some cards issued by participating banks may not be supported. If your card’s eligibility is unclear, check with Axis Bank about that specific card before troubleshooting your iPhone.

Add your Axis Bank card in Wallet
- Open Wallet. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. If prompted, sign in to your Apple Account.
- Start adding a card. Tap the Add Card button, then choose Debit or Credit Card and tap Continue.
- Enter the card details. Scan the card with your iPhone or enter its details as prompted.
- Verify the card. Follow the on-screen instructions. Depending on the issuer’s process, verification may involve a text message, security questions, or confirmation in the bank’s app. Axis Bank may need to approve the card before it can be added.

If Wallet won’t add the card
A participating-bank listing is not approval for every card. If Wallet says the card cannot be used, confirm that it is an eligible Axis Bank Visa or Mastercard credit card and contact Axis Bank to check its support and approval status. Apple’s steps for resolving card-addition issues explain that the issuer controls approval and may need to verify the card.
Pay with the card after it is added
For an in-store contactless payment, double-click the side button on an iPhone with Face ID, or double-click the Home button on an iPhone with Touch ID. Authenticate, then hold the top of the iPhone near the contactless reader until the screen confirms payment. Apple says the actual card number is not shared with the merchant; each transaction uses a unique security code. See Apple’s guide to making purchases with Apple Pay.
How Apple Pay handles your card number
Apple’s security documentation says, “Full card numbers aren’t stored on the device or on Apple Pay servers.” When a card is provisioned, the issuer creates a unique Device Account Number, which is sent encrypted to Apple and stored in the iPhone’s Secure Element. Read Apple’s card provisioning security overview.
