Before following setup or customization instructions, check which regional version of the vivo X Fold6 you have and the software version installed. vivo lists different software for different markets: its China page specifies OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16, while its India page lists OriginOS 7 and Android 17. Menu names and features may therefore differ.
Check your region and software version first
Find the software-version information on your phone and compare it with the documentation for your regional model. The official vivo China specifications page identifies model V2545A and lists OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16. The vivo India specifications page lists OriginOS 7 and Android 17. These listings are not interchangeable setup guides, and they do not establish what software is installed on every X Fold6.
Use the Quick Start Guide supplied with your phone and follow its on-screen prompts for network access, accounts, security, and data migration. The official product pages identify the guide but do not provide its detailed first-boot sequence here, so use the wording and order shown on your own device rather than assuming a particular menu path.
After setup, install any official system updates offered for your device, then check the software version and feature names again. No particular update or mandatory update sequence is established for every regional version.

Set up a useful foldable workspace
Start with one repeatable task—such as reviewing a document while keeping messages or reference material nearby. Once you know which apps you want visible, try the Atomic Workbench arrangements vivo describes for the China-market OriginOS 6 Fold build. The launch announcement does not establish that every feature is available in every region, app, language, or later software release.
Serial mode: keep one task prominent
In serial mode, vivo describes up to five visible windows: one main window and four supporting windows. This arrangement is suited to keeping a primary task in view while retaining supporting apps or information alongside it.

Parallel mode: tile four active apps
Parallel mode places four apps in a tiled layout, with all four running at once. vivo says windows can be resized and the layout adjusted, making this mode a fit for workflows that benefit from several active apps side by side.
Choose a mode for the job
- Visible app count: serial mode is described as up to five windows; parallel mode as four tiled apps.
- Primary-task emphasis: serial mode keeps one main window distinct from its supporting windows; parallel mode gives four apps a tiled arrangement.
- Layout adjustment: vivo says parallel windows can be resized and rearranged.
- Repeated workflows: consider saving a parallel layout if you return to the same app combination often.
Switch layouts and save a repeated setup
According to vivo’s June 26, 2026 China launch announcement, a slight fold or a three-finger swipe can switch between the Atomic Workbench modes. Try the gesture on your installed software build; its availability and behavior may vary.

vivo also says parallel layouts can be saved as home-screen shortcut icons and given custom names. If the option appears on your phone, save a layout for a frequently repeated workflow so you can reopen that app arrangement from the home screen.
Move information between apps
vivo describes AI-assisted drag-and-drop for moving information between apps, including tables, text, translations, and contact cards. The launch announcement also says the system can suggest app combinations based on usage patterns. These are manufacturer-described capabilities, not guarantees of uniform support: whether they work can depend on your software build, region, language, and the apps involved.

Check what came in the box
For the India regional package, vivo lists a Quick Start Guide, case, protective film already applied, cable, and adapter in the box. This is specific to the India product page and should not be assumed for other regional packages. No additional accessory is established as necessary for initial setup.
