Only contacts with Subscriber status can receive the marketing email. Hostinger says events are checked hourly, delivery may take 1–2 hours, and an eight-hour cooldown applies per contact. Its current setup guide says direct “Return to Cart” links are not supported, so link to your store page instead.
What you need before setting up the automation
- A Hostinger AI Builder site connected to Hostinger Reach.
- An active online store on that site. If you have just enabled or created the store, publish the updated site.
- Contacts who have opted in to marketing and appear in Reach with Subscriber status. Abandoned-cart emails are marketing messages, not transactional notices.
Hostinger describes the tracking setup as automatic after the connected site has an active store. You still need to add and activate the automation in Reach.
How to set up the abandoned-cart email
- Connect your AI Builder site if it is not connected. In Hostinger Reach, select Connect and choose your site. Hostinger describes this as a one-click connection.
- Make sure the site has an active store. If the automation indicates that a store is required, open the site in the AI Builder editor, create or enable the online store, and publish the updated site.
- Open the automation. In Reach, go to Automations → E-commerce → Abandoned Cart.
- Add the email action. The trigger is preconfigured for a connected site with an active store. Add an existing email template or create a new email, then include a clear button linking to your website or store page.
- Publish or activate the automation. Check that it is active before expecting reminders to send.
- Confirm subscriber consent. Check that opted-in contacts are visible in Reach with Subscriber status. For Hostinger’s broader eCommerce integration, the consent setting is in the store dashboard under Settings → Checkout → Marketing consent. Customers who opt in through that setting are synced to Reach as subscribers. AI Builder labels may differ, so check the live editor rather than assuming that every screen uses the same navigation.
When the reminder arrives—and what the timing means
Hostinger says abandoned-cart events are checked hourly and an email may arrive within 1–2 hours after a checkout is abandoned. The automation also has an automatic eight-hour cooldown per contact. These are documented product behaviors, not a promise of instant delivery or a delay setting you can freely adjust. If a shopper does not receive a reminder, first check the automation’s active status and the contact’s Subscriber status; then allow for the stated delivery window and cooldown.
What link to put in the email
Hostinger’s current abandoned-cart setup guide says a direct Return to Cart link is not supported. Use a clear call-to-action that takes the shopper to the general website or store page, such as “Continue shopping.” The guide’s support statement is time-sensitive; check the current Reach setup if you need shoppers to return to their exact cart.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Reach asks you to connect a site: Select Connect and choose the AI Builder site.
- The flow says a store is required: Create or enable the online store in the AI Builder editor, publish the site, and return to the automation.
- A shopper did not receive an email: Confirm the automation is active and the contact appears in Reach as a subscriber with marketing consent. Hostinger documents hourly checks, a possible 1–2-hour delivery window, and an eight-hour per-contact cooldown.
- The email cannot link directly to the cart: Use a button to the website or store page instead.
