To set up a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, charge and turn it on, choose your language, connect to Wi-Fi, then follow the prompts for data transfer, Google sign-in, a screen lock, and optional Samsung account settings. The exact screens vary by model and connection type: Wi-Fi-only tablets skip cellular setup, while LTE/5G versions may prompt for a SIM or eSIM.
Before you start
- Check the box for charging accessories. Use a compatible USB-C charger and cable. Package contents vary by country, region, or service provider; Samsung’s Gulf product listing specifically says the travel adapter is not included there. Check your own box before buying an adapter. - Prepare optional storage or cellular service. If your exact model supports microSD and you want extra storage, insert the card as appropriate. If you have an LTE/5G model and a physical SIM, insert it according to the tablet’s instructions. Wi-Fi-only models do not use a SIM for mobile service.
- Have your Wi-Fi password and account details ready. You can sign in to Google during setup for Play Store access and other Google features. A Samsung account is optional in the setup flow.
Samsung notes that tablet setup can differ depending on whether the device has LTE or is Wi-Fi-only. Follow the prompts on your own screen, which may also vary with connection type. Samsung Support: Set up your Samsung tablet.
Set up the tablet step by step
- Turn it on and select a language. Hold the Side button until the screen turns on. Choose your primary language and tap Start.
- Review terms and privacy choices. Read the terms, privacy policy, and diagnostic-data options. Accept the choices you are comfortable with; accepting every optional item is not required just to proceed.
- Choose whether to copy data. If prompted, select a Galaxy/Android device or an iPhone/iPad as the source and follow the transfer instructions. To start fresh, choose the option to continue without copying.
- Connect to Wi-Fi. Select your network and enter its password. If the network is hidden, Samsung’s setup guidance says to add it manually.
- Complete cellular setup if it appears. An LTE/5G model may show prompts for an eSIM or mobile service. Follow the on-screen steps. For SIM activation or carrier settings, contact your carrier. If your tablet is Wi-Fi-only, skip this step.
- Sign in to Google. Sign in to an existing Google account or create one when prompted. You can use Google services such as the Play Store after signing in.
- Set a screen lock. Choose an available lock method. If you enable fingerprint or other biometric unlocking, the tablet may also require a standard lock such as a PIN, password, or pattern.
- Choose Samsung account and display options. Sign in to or create a Samsung account if you want its associated services, then select Light or Dark mode when offered.
- Review the tablet after setup. Check the current Settings menu for available software updates and preferences. The exact menu labels and post-setup screens can depend on the software version and regional model.
Transfer data from your old tablet—or start clean
Samsung recommends Smart Switch as a way to transfer data from a Galaxy or other Android device, an iPhone or iPad, or compatible external storage. The available transfer route and content depend on the source device and method. Samsung notes that iOS data may be transferred by cable, wireless connection, or iCloud, but not every app, setting, or file is guaranteed to migrate. - Choose transfer if you want to bring over supported data and are ready to follow Smart Switch or the on-screen instructions.
- Choose no transfer if you prefer a clean setup. You can continue through the first-boot flow without copying data.
What changes between Wi-Fi-only and LTE/5G models?

Samsung’s UK support listing includes Wi-Fi and 5G variants, so check the model you own rather than assuming every Tab S10 Lite has cellular capability. Its listing also offers a User Manual for Android 16, version 1.1 dated 28 August 2026, and an Android 15 manual dated 27 August 2025. If setup does not match these steps
- You do not see a cellular prompt: Your model may be Wi-Fi-only, or the prompt may not apply to your setup. Check the model details and continue over Wi-Fi.
- Your Wi-Fi network is hidden: Use the manual network-add option in the Wi-Fi screen.
- You are unsure which manual applies: Match the manual’s Android version and regional model to your tablet. Samsung lists both Android 15 and Android 16 manuals for this product family.
- You are unsure about the charger: Check the contents of your region’s box and the tablet’s compatible charging requirements before purchasing an adapter.
