Mount it securely, connect its pedals and any required power supply, plug the wheel into the PS5, let it calibrate, then press its PS button to connect it to your profile. Start GT7 and test steering, accelerator, and brake inputs.
Check that your wheel works with PS5 and GT7
Compatibility depends on the wheel’s exact platform edition, not just its model name. For example, Logitech lists Gran Turismo 7 for its G923/G29/G920 PlayStation group. PlayStation’s licensed racing-wheel overview also features product families from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec. Check the manufacturer’s compatibility information for your specific wheel before connecting it; do not assume that an Xbox edition with a similar name will work on PS5.

Mount the wheel and position the pedals
Clamp the wheel to a stable desk, or attach it to a compatible wheel stand or cockpit. A separate stand is optional; check that any mount fits your wheel. Position the pedals so they will not slide when pressed.

For the Logitech G923 specifically, Logitech documents clamp mounting and bolt points. Its guide specifies two M6X1 screws to bolt the wheel unit to a rig. Other models may use different mounting hardware or methods, so follow their manuals.

Connect the wheel, pedals, and power
Connect components in the order and to the ports specified by the wheel’s manual. The sequence varies by model; the following examples are not interchangeable instructions.

Logitech G923
- Connect the wheel’s power supply.
- Connect the pedal set to the wheel.
- Connect the wheel’s USB cable to the PS5.

Thrustmaster T300 RS GT and T-GT II
Connect the pedals, power, and USB as directed by the model’s manual, and check any base switch before connecting. On the T300 RS GT, the manual specifies the PS5-PS4 switch position. On the T-GT II, the USB switch position depends on the game. Use the setting prescribed for your model rather than copying a switch position from another wheel.

Let the wheel calibrate and connect your PS5 profile
Keep your hands, cables, and nearby objects clear while the wheel calibrates; some wheels rotate during startup. With the G923, Logitech says the wheel turns fully to both sides and then returns to center after USB connection. Thrustmaster’s cited manuals also describe automatic calibration. When calibration is complete, press the wheel’s PS button and connect or select your PlayStation profile as prompted.

Test steering and pedals in GT7
Launch Gran Turismo 7 and check that steering, accelerator, and brake inputs register. If an input is missing or behaves unexpectedly, open the game’s control options and check the relevant mapping. Logitech notes that pedal mapping may need attention and that some games can invert pedal controls. Avoid treating a setting or button map for one wheel as universal: available mappings and controls vary by model.
For Thrustmaster’s T-GT II, the manufacturer provides a GT7 PS4/PS5 mapping resource. It is model-specific, not a general settings guide for every wheel.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- The wheel does not initialize: Confirm that your exact model is PS5-compatible, reconnect USB, and check whether it needs external power. Follow the wheel’s manual for any mode or switch setting.
- The pedals do not respond: Check the wheel’s power, the pedal-to-wheel connection, and the wheel-to-console USB connection. Then inspect GT7’s pedal mapping and whether the game has inverted the controls.
- The wheel powers on but does not control your profile: Press its PS button and select or connect your profile as the manual directs.
- Thrustmaster controls seem wrong: Check the model-specific console or game switch position and mapping resource instead of applying another wheel’s settings.
- The wheel moves or tilts: Refit its clamp or use a compatible mounting method. For the G923’s bolt mounting, Logitech specifies two M6X1 screws for the wheel unit.
