First check how your Nintendo Switch 2 bundle delivers its game: some bundles include a printed download code, while others let you register the included game through the console. Create or sign in to the Nintendo Account that should own the game before redeeming or registering it. Nintendo ties the game license to the account used to claim it.
Before you claim the bundled game
- Connect the Switch 2 to the internet; setup, redemption, and downloading require an internet connection.
- Decide which Nintendo Account should own the game. The license is associated with the account that redeems or registers it, so check the selected user before confirming.
- Look at the package and console to determine whether your bundle includes a printed code or a no-code registration entitlement. Not every bundle uses the same claim process.
How do I set up a Nintendo Account on Switch 2?
Create an account on Nintendo’s website
- Go to Nintendo’s Nintendo Account website and select “Sign in/Create account.”
- Select “Create a Nintendo Account,” enter your date of birth, and choose a sign-in method.
- If you already have a Nintendo Account, sign in with that account instead; it can also be used on Switch 2.
People who are subject to verifiable parental consent laws cannot create an account independently. A parent or guardian must create it within their own account. The applicable rules depend on the user’s age and location.
Link the account to a Switch 2 user
Complete the console’s initial setup and connect it to the internet. Link the intended Nintendo Account to the Switch 2 user. If you create and link the account using the console’s email-confirmation option, Nintendo describes an optional five-digit confirmation-code process completed with a computer or smart device. This is separate from the four-digit code sent by email for email verification.
How do I redeem my Switch 2 bundle code?
Use these steps if your bundle includes a printed download code:

- Connect the console to the internet and open Nintendo eShop.
- Select the user linked to the Nintendo Account that should own the game.
- Choose “Enter Code,” enter the download code, review the details, and confirm redemption.
If the code is printed on a retailer card that also shows a control number, enter the download code—not the control number. The account’s country setting must be a country where Nintendo eShop is available. If you prefer, you can also redeem a code through Nintendo’s online redemption page. That option requires the account to have opened eShop on a Switch 2 or Switch at least once; sign in, enter the 16-digit code, and confirm redemption for the displayed account.
Where is the game included with my Switch 2 bundle?
If there is no printed code, the game may be claimed through the console as a bundled product. Nintendo documents these steps:

- On the HOME Menu, select the bundle or game icon.
- Choose the user linked to the Nintendo Account that should own the game.
- Continue to Nintendo eShop and select “Download” to register the game to that account and begin downloading it.
You can also open Nintendo eShop, select the user icon, choose “Settings,” and then select “Download” in the “Products Bundled with Console” section.

Fix common Switch 2 bundle problems
The code is rejected
Check that you entered the download code rather than a card’s control number, then consult Nintendo’s download-code troubleshooting guidance for the error. If a code expected in the package is missing, contact Nintendo Support. The available remedy can depend on the purchase and case.

I cannot redeem the code online
Open Nintendo eShop on a Switch 2 or Switch using the intended account at least once, then retry the online redemption page. You can also redeem the code directly in eShop on the console.
There is no printed code
Check for the bundle or game icon on the HOME Menu, or look under Nintendo eShop’s “Products Bundled with Console” section. Some bundle games are registered through one of these console routes instead of a printed code.

I selected the wrong account
Stop before confirming a redemption, registration, or download if the wrong user is selected. Nintendo says the game license belongs to the account that claims it. If the game has already been claimed on another account, Nintendo’s bundle FAQ directs users to its transfer guidance; do not assume an ordinary transfer is available.
