To set the time on a Samsung microwave, use the clock-setting sequence for your specific model: panels differ, so there is no single button combination that works on every Samsung microwave. Start by checking for a Clock control. If the controls or prompts do not match the steps below, look up the model code and follow its manual on Samsung Support.
Start with the controls on your microwave
Check the panel for a Clock button or a control with a similar label. Samsung’s general guide says to press Clock first; if that does not open the setting mode, some models require holding it for three seconds. Other panels use Options, arrow keys and OK, Power Level, or My Settings instead. Do not assume a procedure for one model family applies to another.
Set the time on models with a Clock button
- Press Clock. If the display does not enter setting mode, press and hold Clock for three seconds, if that matches your panel.
- Enter the time using the number keys, or use the controls shown by your model.
- If prompted to select AM or PM, make that selection. Some 12-hour procedures use another press of Clock to switch between them.
- Confirm using the button your microwave specifies, such as OK or ENTER/START. On some models, pressing Clock again is part of the sequence.
The exact confirmation and AM/PM steps vary. For example, Samsung’s instructions for the ME11A7510 and ME11CB7510 say to hold Clock for three seconds, enter the time, and touch OK; in 12-hour mode, use Clock to choose AM or PM and touch OK again. For the MC17T8000C, the corresponding control is Kitchen Timer/Clock Setting: hold it for three seconds, enter the time, and touch OK, with another clock-setting-button press to change AM to PM when using 12-hour mode. Check whether your model uses a different route
Samsung documents several alternative panel procedures. Use these only if the model family and controls match your microwave.

Find your model code and its manual
- Look for the microwave’s model code on its rating label. Samsung Germany says the label is commonly on the rear of the appliance or on the door frame; locations can vary by market and model.
- Enter the model code in Samsung Support’s model lookup.
- Open the matching product support page and download or consult its manual. Follow the manual’s displayed control names and prompts if they differ from the examples here.
If the clock-setting sequence does not work
- Clock does nothing: If your panel has Clock, try the three-second hold described in Samsung’s general guide. If that still does not match the display, check the model-specific manual.
- There is no Clock button: Check whether the panel has Options, arrow keys and OK, Power Level, or My Settings, then verify the procedure against the exact model.
- The time entry or confirmation is rejected: Recheck the required number of digits and the confirmation control. Samsung’s documented examples include entering 5:00 as 500 or as 5, 0, 0, depending on the model instructions.
- AM/PM is unclear: Use a separate AM/PM step only when your model’s instructions call for it; it is not common to every procedure.
