Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo send a picture from your Samsung phone, open Gallery, select the photo, tap Share, and choose a destination such as Quick Share, a messaging app, or email. The best option depends on how far away the recipient is, what device they use, and whether preserving the original image quality matters.
Send a picture from Gallery
- Open the Gallery app and select the picture. To send more than one, select each photo you want to include.
- Tap Share.
- Choose a destination, such as Quick Share, a messaging app, or email.
- Follow the prompts for that option. With Quick Share, select a nearby recipient or, if offered, choose the QR-code or link option.
Samsung’s Gallery sharing instructions describe choosing a supported app or sharing feature after selecting a picture. Labels and available options can differ by phone, carrier, region, and software version.
Choose the sharing method that fits
| Method | Best for | Recipient and quality considerations | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick Share nearby | Sending directly to someone close by | Samsung says nearby Quick Share transfers preserve original quality. | Both devices must be discoverable, with the required connectivity and visibility settings enabled. Samsung Quick Share guidance describes the feature and its regional details. |
| Quick Share QR code or link | Sharing with someone nearby who can scan a code, or sending a download link through another app | Offers a way to share without relying on nearby-device discovery. | Samsung Canada’s April 24, 2026 guide documents limits of up to 1,000 files per QR-code transfer, 3 GB per file, and 10 GB per day. These limits apply to the feature path described for that market; check your phone’s current guidance if your transfer is larger. |
| Messaging app | A quick share through an app both people use | The app may compress images, so the recipient might not get the original resolution, sharpness, or color. | If image fidelity matters, use a method that shares the original file instead. Samsung’s sharing guide notes that messaging services can affect image quality. |
| Email attachment | Sending a full-resolution image through email | Samsung recommends an attachment when preserving original quality matters. Inserting a picture into the email body may resize or modify it. | Choose the attachment option rather than inserting the image inline. |
| Cloud link | Sharing with someone far away or sending a larger collection | Services such as Google Photos, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox can provide shareable links. | A link grants access to content rather than attaching a separate copy. Review who can open it and any access settings before sending. |
| Bluetooth | Sending to a compatible Galaxy, other Android device, or some computers | Samsung Canada’s guide says Bluetooth sharing is not supported with iPhone or iPad. | For an Apple recipient, use an available Quick Share QR-code or link flow, or another app-based method. |
Preserve the picture’s quality
Choose a transfer method based on the copy the recipient needs. Messaging apps can reduce file size by compressing photos, which may lower resolution or alter sharpness and color. For the original file, use nearby Quick Share, attach the image to an email, or share it through a cloud link. Samsung’s guidance on sharing photos and videos distinguishes these options.
With email, attach the image instead of inserting it into the message body, because inline images may be resized or modified by the email app. With a cloud service, remember that the recipient accesses the shared item through the link; check its permissions before sending.

Review location data and access before sharing
A photo may contain location information. Samsung US explains that you can open the photo’s details in Gallery, edit the location field, and save the change to remove that information. Samsung also says enabling Auto Blocker with Maximum restrictions removes location data from images shared from Gallery. The setting and labels may vary; see Samsung’s US Quick Share and privacy instructions.
For sensitive files, Samsung advises considering Private Share. Its Quick Share page describes controls that can limit how long a file remains available and prevent recipients from taking screenshots, saving, or resending it. Available protections depend on the device and feature version. For cloud links, check the access level and intended recipients before sharing.
