Open the person’s LinkedIn profile and select the connection count below their profile picture. If LinkedIn shows See connections, you can browse the list available to you. If that option is missing, the member may have hidden their connections; you may still be able to find connections you share through LinkedIn search.
View the connections list from a LinkedIn profile
- Sign in to LinkedIn and search for the person by name. Open the correct profile.
- Look below the profile picture for the connection count. Click it on desktop or tap it in the mobile app.
- If See connections appears, select it to browse the list visible to you. LinkedIn’s instructions are in View your connection’s connections.
If “See connections” is missing
The profile owner controls whether their connections list is visible. If the full list is hidden, LinkedIn does not offer the profile action for opening it. You can check the People tab in search results for connections you share with that person, but this shows shared connections—not their hidden full list. See LinkedIn’s guidance on connection visibility.
Who can see a member’s connections?
LinkedIn says a member’s 1st-degree connections can browse the list by default. A member can change this under Settings & Privacy → Visibility → Visibility of your profile & network → Connection visibility; the setting saves automatically. LinkedIn lists equivalent routes for desktop, its mobile app, and mobile browsers. The owner can make the list visible only to themselves. Members who have connections in common may still see those shared connections. Details are in LinkedIn’s connection visibility and connection-list help pages.
There are additional privacy considerations: LinkedIn says a member’s 1st-degree connections may sync their account to a partner service and see connections there unless the member opts out of profile visibility on partner services. LinkedIn also notes that Sales Navigator or TeamLink users may need additional steps to hide all connection visibility; its cited guidance does not specify those steps.

Why the connection count may not match the list
The number shown in the profile overview represents the member’s total connections, but LinkedIn says the visible list count may differ because of privacy or contact settings. Once a member has more than 500 connections, LinkedIn displays 500+ rather than the exact total. The count therefore does not tell you how many connections you can browse. See Differences in Connection Counts on a LinkedIn Profile.

- 1st-degree: Someone directly connected to the member after an invitation is accepted.
- 2nd-degree: Someone connected to one of your 1st-degree connections.
- 3rd-degree: Someone connected to one of your 2nd-degree connections.
These labels describe how far away a member is in your LinkedIn network; they do not override the profile owner’s connection-visibility setting. LinkedIn explains connection degrees and how connections work.
