Secure mobile banking by protecting the phone, using a unique bank password and the strongest sign-in method your bank supports, installing only the legitimate bank app, and enabling account alerts. These steps apply to both iPhone and Android; exact settings and bank options vary.
Secure the phone before opening the bank app
Your phone’s lock screen and recovery accounts matter: someone who gets into the device or the email account used for password resets may have a path toward your bank account. The FBI recommends a strong device PIN or passcode, current software, and remote-wipe capability in its Cybersecurity Best Practices. The FTC also recommends keeping the phone’s operating system current and enabling automatic updates where available.
- Set a strong passcode or PIN. Biometrics such as Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint unlock can make everyday use easier, but keep a robust passcode fallback.
- Install operating-system updates promptly and turn on automatic updates if your device offers that setting.
- Enable the built-in lost-device feature and check that you can remotely locate, lock, or erase the phone.
- Review app permissions and remove apps you do not recognize or need. On Android, keep installs limited to Google Play unless you have a specific reason to install elsewhere.
On iPhone
Turn on Find My and Send Last Location, and consider Stolen Device Protection. For sensitive actions, use Face ID or Touch ID where available. The FBI also recommends securing the Apple Account with two-factor authentication or security keys. Lockdown Mode is intended for people who believe they may face sophisticated targeting; it is not a routine banking requirement. Menu paths and feature availability can change with iOS releases, so use Settings search if a label differs.
On Android
Check that Find My Device, Google Play Protect, and automatic system updates are enabled. Use a strong PIN, restrict app installs to Play Store, and check that device encryption is on. Android menu names and locations vary by manufacturer and version; use Settings search when necessary. The FBI’s mobile security guidance lists these protections and stronger Google Account security options.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Strengthen sign-in and recovery
Use a password that is unique to your bank, and turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) for the bank account and for the email and platform accounts that can reset its password. The Federal Reserve’s interagency authentication guidance is addressed to financial institutions, not a consumer checklist, but it emphasizes layered security, unique passwords, risk-aware controls, and customer monitoring. Your bank decides which sign-in methods it supports.
If the bank offers a choice, prefer phishing-resistant authentication such as a passkey or FIDO security key when supported. CISA says hardware-based FIDO keys are most effective where feasible and passkeys are an acceptable alternative. SMS one-time codes are not phishing-resistant; authenticator-app codes are stronger than SMS in CISA’s guidance but can still be phished. A security key is optional, not a universal requirement, and works only if the bank or relevant account supports it. See CISA’s mobile communications guidance and MFA guidance.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Install the real bank app and avoid credential traps
- Open the Apple App Store or Google Play Store yourself; do not install a bank app from a link in an unexpected text, email, or social-media message.
- Check the publisher name and app details against information on your bank’s official website or materials.
- For web banking, use the bank’s app or independently enter a known bank address rather than following a message link.
- Do not share your password or a one-time sign-in code with someone who contacted you unexpectedly. Verify unusual requests by calling a number on your bank card or using the contact details on its official site.
A padlock or HTTPS in a browser means the connection is encrypted; it does not prove that the site belongs to your bank. The FBI and FTC both advise caution with links and impersonation attempts.
Is public Wi-Fi safe enough for mobile banking?
Public Wi-Fi is not automatically unsafe. The FTC says that, because encryption is widespread, connecting through a public Wi-Fi network is usually safe. Encryption protects data in transit to a site, however; it cannot make a fraudulent bank lookalike trustworthy. Use the legitimate app or independently navigate to the bank. If a network seems suspicious or you are unsure it is genuine, switch to cellular data rather than entering account details. See the FTC’s public Wi-Fi advice.

Enable alerts and check activity
Turn on bank login and transaction alerts if offered, and review recent transactions regularly. Alert names and controls differ by institution. If something looks unfamiliar, contact the bank promptly through its official app, the number on your card, or its independently verified website. The Federal Reserve guidance identifies customer alerts and reporting contacts as examples of financial-institution awareness resources.

- From a trusted device, use Apple Find My or Android Find My Device to locate and lock the phone; erase it remotely if needed and available.
- Contact your bank through a verified channel and ask it to secure mobile access and review recent account activity.
- Secure the email and Apple or Google account used for password recovery. Change compromised passwords and review account recovery options.
- Contact your mobile carrier if the phone number or SIM could be used to receive sign-in or recovery codes.
The FBI recommends remote-wipe capability for lost or stolen devices, and the Federal Reserve guidance notes that institutions should have processes for lost, stolen, or changed devices.
