Short answer: do not build a bot that scrapes Flipkart product pages. Flipkart’s published marketplace terms prohibit page scraping, robots, spiders, and equivalent automated or manual processes used to obtain content through means the platform has not purposefully made available. For an authorized seller integration, use the authenticated Marketplace Seller API instead. Its documented product-search operation can return seller-listing names, identifiers, prices, dimensions, and weight—but the response reference does not list ratings, and it is not an unrestricted public catalog API.
What Flipkart permits—and what it does not
Flipkart’s Seller Hub Terms of Use (shown as last updated November 20, 2025 when accessed September 29, 2026) contain a broad automated-access prohibition. The clause says: “You shall not use any ‘deep-link’, ‘page-scrape’, ‘robot’, ‘spider’, automatic device, program, algorithm, methodology, or any similar or equivalent manual process to access, acquire, copy, monitor any portion of the Platform or content or in any way reproduce, or circumvent the navigational structure, presentation of the Platform, or any content to obtain or attempt to obtain any material, documents, or information through any means not purposely made available through the Platform.” Flipkart reserves the right to bar that activity. Its affiliate-domain terms contain a similar restriction.
That means a script that loops over visible product URLs, parses HTML, rotates user agents, or bypasses bot controls is not the compliant solution described here. Terms can change, so check the current Flipkart terms before deploying an integration.
The official route: Marketplace Seller API
Who can use it
The documented Marketplace Seller APIs support seller workflows. Registering as a marketplace seller does not automatically grant API access. A seller must apply for access and create an authorized application. A partner or aggregator follows a separate application and seller-authorization process; authorization is not automatic.

Seller self-access workflow
- Register as a Flipkart marketplace seller.
- In Seller Dashboard, open Manage Profile → Developer Access.
- Create a self-access application and generate an access token.
- Call the seller APIs over HTTPS, keeping the token in a secret store rather than source code.
- Renew the token when it expires. A Seller Dashboard password by itself is not API access.
Flipkart’s guide cautions sellers not to share self-access credentials with partners or aggregators; those credentials are for the seller’s own use.
Partner or aggregator workflow
- Register through the Partner Dashboard.
- Complete Flipkart’s verification process.
- Create a third-party application.
- Have each seller authorize that application through the authorization-code flow.
- Use the resulting authorized credentials to call seller APIs over HTTPS.
Searching listings with POST /listings/v3/product/search
The documented operation searches the authorized seller’s listings. It requires an authorization header, an internalState filter, and a zero-based batchNo. You can also send searchText. Each response batch contains up to 20 listings and includes a total count.

Read the response’s total count, then request batchNo values 0, 1, 2 and so on until you have collected the required records. Because the documented maximum is 20 listings per batch, plan for multiple requests and stop when the returned list is empty or your collected count reaches the reported total. Persist the last successful batch so a transient failure does not restart the entire job.

Why this is not a general Flipkart product scraper
The API searches listings belonging to an authorized seller. It does not establish arbitrary access to every product visible on Flipkart, historical prices, competitor listings, reviews, or complete category specifications. A category may have additional technical attributes that are not represented by the documented dimensions and weight fields. Treat missing values as unknown rather than filling them from an HTML page that you are not authorized to automate.
Building a reliable export
Store raw and normalized data
Save the original JSON alongside a normalized record containing listing ID, product ID, name, ssp, esp, mrp, dimensions, weight, image URL, batch number, and retrieval time. Keep null distinct from zero and from an empty string. Prices should remain numeric in storage, with currency and locale handled by your application.
Handle changing prices
Never treat a saved price as permanently current. Record when each batch was retrieved, and compare later runs by listing ID. If esp is null, preserve that null; do not silently substitute MRP or SSP and label it as the effective price.

Protect credentials
- Load tokens from environment variables or a secret manager.
- Use HTTPS only.
- Do not log authorization headers or include tokens in issue reports.
- Rotate and renew expiring tokens through the approved application flow.
- Keep seller self-access credentials separate from partner credentials.
Troubleshooting
401 or 403 response
Check that the application is approved, the token has not expired, the authorization header format matches the current documentation, and the seller has authorized the partner application where applicable. A seller login password cannot replace an API token.
400 response
Validate JSON types and required fields. Confirm that batchNo starts at zero, that internalState is valid for the API version, and that the request uses the documented content type.
Only 20 records appear
That is the documented per-batch limit. Read the total count and request subsequent batch numbers.
A price or specification is missing
The field may be optional, null, or absent from that seller’s listing. Preserve the missing value; the endpoint does not promise complete specifications for every category.

You need ratings
The product-search response reference does not list ratings. Do not add an undocumented endpoint or fall back to prohibited page scraping. Ask Flipkart whether an approved product or review data product exists for your use case.

Can I use the Seller API without becoming a seller?
The documented access model is for seller workflows or approved partners and aggregators. It does not describe unrestricted public catalog access.
Does esp always contain the current sale price?
No. The documentation says ESP may be null, and listing prices and offers can change.
Can I export ratings with this endpoint?
Ratings are not included in the documented response-field list, so their availability is not established.
