Use YouTube Live Control Room to create and manage the continuous broadcast, and use your encoder or playout system to schedule the morning and evening aarti segments inside it. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow does not itself provide a daily segment scheduler, so confirm that your chosen production system supports recurring playlists or media transitions, the correct time zone, and recovery after interruptions before relying on it.
Decide how the aarti should appear on your channel
Keep one continuous feed
A continuous feed can include recurring morning and evening segments. In this setup, your production system changes the content at the scheduled times while the same YouTube broadcast remains live. YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a 24/7 channel feed coexisting with a separate broadcast, so an always-on feed does not prevent you from creating a distinct event broadcast when needed. Create separate scheduled broadcasts
Use separate broadcast pages when viewers should find each aarti as its own event, receive reminders for it, or have a distinct archive. YouTube lets creators schedule broadcasts in Live Control Room and promote scheduled streams so viewers can set reminders. The schedule and promotion are YouTube functions; recurring transitions within a single continuous feed still need to be handled by your encoder or playout workflow.

Set times for your temple and audience
There is no universal morning or evening aarti time established by YouTube’s technical guidance. Set the times according to the temple or tradition you represent and the audience you serve. Label the schedule with its time zone, for example, “6:00 a.m. IST,” and tell viewers whether the displayed time follows the temple’s local time or another chosen zone. If your audience spans regions, include the zone rather than assuming viewers will interpret the clock time correctly.

Choose and configure the recurring playout system
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Hardware is optional; choose the production setup that meets your operating needs. Do not assume that an encoder can schedule two daily segments just because it can send a live stream. Verify the following features in the current documentation for your specific software or device:
- Recurring daily schedules and multiple playlists or media segments.
- Time-zone selection and daylight-saving-time behavior.
- Whether the feed stays connected while content changes.
- What happens after an encoder restart, power loss, or network interruption, including whether it resumes the correct segment.
- Monitoring, alerts, and whether an operator must intervene.
- How it handles long broadcasts and any archive or restart workflow.
Make a test schedule before relying on unattended operation. Check that each segment starts at the intended local time, that the transition does not end the YouTube broadcast, and that the system behaves as expected after a restart or brief connection loss.

Create the YouTube broadcast and connect your encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast there. If you are making a separate event page for an aarti, set its title and scheduled time so viewers can find it and set a reminder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube. Treat the key like a password: enter it only in the encoder or playout system you control, and do not share it publicly.
- Enter the YouTube connection details in the encoder. YouTube describes an encoder as converting video into a digital format for streaming. The encoder sends the stream to YouTube using the server URL and key.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Wait for the incoming video to appear in Live Control Room. Verify the picture and sound before starting the broadcast.
- Click “Go live” in Live Control Room. For a scheduled broadcast, confirm the preview and start the broadcast at the appropriate time. The encoder provides the feed; Live Control Room is where you manage and confirm the YouTube broadcast. See YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Let the playout system run the daily transitions. Configure the morning and evening segments in that system, not as assumed features of YouTube’s scheduled-broadcast page. Monitor the first transitions and confirm the live feed remains connected.
Plan continuity, archives, and advertising separately
Do not treat a 24/7 feed as one guaranteed archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that an indefinitely continuous feed will be saved as one unbroken video. Decide how you will preserve or present recordings, and confirm YouTube’s current behavior for your intended stream length in its encoder help guidance.
Decide whether to use ad cuepoints
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documents automatic and scheduled mid-roll cuepoints. Whether to enable advertising is a channel and editorial decision; the API documentation does not establish what is appropriate for devotional programming or guarantee any revenue result.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The aarti does not start at the intended time: Check the time zone configured in the playout system and compare its clock with the time zone shown to viewers. Verify that the daily schedule is recurring and that daylight-saving behavior is understood where it applies.
- The transition ends or interrupts the YouTube broadcast: Check whether the production system changes media within the existing output or stops and restarts the encoder. Confirm the expected behavior with a test before using the schedule live.
- Live Control Room shows no preview: Confirm that the encoder is running and that its YouTube server URL and stream key match the intended broadcast. Wait for the preview before clicking “Go live.”
- The feed fails after a restart or connection drop: Check the system’s documented recovery and resume behavior, including whether it restarts the stream and returns to the right playlist item. If it requires operator intervention, plan monitoring or an on-site response.
- You cannot find one complete recording of the continuous stream: Do not assume a 24/7 broadcast is archived as a single video. YouTube’s automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours; plan separately for longer feeds.
