You can schedule Google Business Profile posts from Google’s own interface: open your profile, choose Posts → Add post, select a post type, and turn on Schedule this post before choosing a date and time. Google also offers weekly, monthly, and custom recurrence options. Scheduling makes publishing easier to plan, but it does not guarantee more traffic or higher local search rankings.
Schedule a post in Google Business Profile
- Open the Business Profile you manage on Google Search or Maps, then select Posts.
- Select Add post and choose Update, Offer, or Event.
- Add the post’s text and any optional elements, such as an image, video, link, or button. For an Offer or Event, fill in its relevant title and dates.
- Turn on Schedule this post, choose the publication date and time, then select Post. Google’s step-by-step instructions describe this as scheduling the post to publish later.
- If you want it to recur, use the Repeats dropdown and select a weekly, monthly, or custom schedule. Google’s publishing flow can also share a post to multiple profiles available to your account.
After scheduling, check the post’s status and details in the profile. A scheduled publication time is not the same as an Offer’s valid date range or an Event’s start and end dates.
Choose the right post type
Update
Use an Update for general news, announcements, or other timely information that does not need an offer period or event schedule.
Offer
Use an Offer for a promotion. It has a title and date range, and can include a description, image or video, coupon code, link, and terms. Google says Offer posts show a View Offer button.

Event
Use an Event for a specific activity with a title and start and end dates. If you omit the start or end time, Google says the event appears to last 24 hours on its event dates.

Where posts appear—and what can affect them
Google Business Profile posts may appear in the Updates or Overview tabs on mobile Search and Maps, in the “From the owner” section on desktop, or as featured posts on mobile. Offers and Events may receive more prominent placement on mobile, but the display varies by device and profile view; publishing does not guarantee a particular position or amount of traffic.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsGoogle reviews posts for policy compliance after publication. A post may be rejected, and policy violations can restrict a post’s display or access to a profile or merchant account. Before scheduling, check Google’s Business Profile content policies, confirm Offer terms and dates, and make sure links and media are accurate. Check the post’s status afterward rather than assuming a scheduled post went live as intended.

When a third-party scheduler is useful
Google’s native workflow is the direct option for scheduling on a profile. A third-party tool may be worth comparing if you need one calendar for Google and other social channels, coordination across several locations, or team planning and approvals. Check these capabilities before choosing a service:
- Which Google post types and media it supports.
- Whether the profile must be verified and how account connections work.
- Profile, channel, and queued-post limits.
- Team permissions and approval workflows.
- Whether it provides Google Business Profile analytics or engagement features.
- How it handles time zones, especially for Events and Offers.
For example, Buffer’s Google Business Profile publishing guide says it supports What’s New, Offer, and Event posts, requires a verified profile for connection, and does not currently offer Google Business Profile analytics. It also says Event and Offer times use the profile location’s local time zone. Those details describe Buffer, not every scheduler; confirm current features directly with any vendor you consider.

Advanced option: scheduling through the API
Developers managing complex or large profile sets can use Google’s Business Profile APIs to create and update posts. The LocalPost resource includes a scheduledTime property. Google describes API use as requiring technical experience and coding knowledge, with developer sign-up and access configuration. It is generally a more technical path than the standard interface for a business scheduling an individual post. See Google’s API overview and Local Posts reference.
Google’s API lifecycle states include SCHEDULED (not yet appearing in Search), PROCESSING, LIVE, and REJECTED. The API documentation describes standard, Event, and Offer workflows and several call-to-action types, but these API capabilities should not be assumed to appear in every user interface or third-party service. Google also says Product Posts cannot be created through the API.
