Choose whether it opens as a web app
The Home Screen icon gives you a quick way to open the site. With Open as Web App enabled, Apple says the website opens like an app; web apps can also receive notifications and be quit like other apps. This creates an app-like way to access the website, not a native app downloaded from the App Store. Apple explains the web-app option.
If “Add to Home Screen” is missing
Scroll to the bottom of the Share sheet and tap Edit Actions. Add Add to Home Screen to the available actions, then return to the Share sheet and select it. Apple’s support instructions cover the missing action.
