To review or revoke access, find the companion app for your smart glasses in your phone’s privacy settings, then inspect permissions by category. On iPhone, use Settings > Privacy & Security. On Android, use Permission Manager. Activity reports can show recent or reported access, but you must change permissions in the controls themselves. The exact permissions a glasses app needs—and what stops working when you turn one off—depend on the app and glasses model.
Before changing permissions, identify the right app
Look for the app you use to pair or manage your glasses; do not assume its name or permission needs from the glasses brand alone. Review each permission in relation to the feature you use, such as importing photos or using a location-based feature. The platform guidance identifies permission controls but does not establish a universal permission list for smart-glasses apps.
Turning off access can make features that rely on it unavailable. The sources here do not specify the effects for every app or glasses model, so check the app’s documentation if you need to know what a particular permission enables.
Review and revoke permissions on iPhone
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Tap a category relevant to the app, such as Bluetooth, Camera, Contacts, Location Services, Microphone, or Photos. Find the glasses companion app in that category.
- Switch off access you do not want the app to have. Because iPhone organizes access by category, check other relevant categories too. Categories and controls shown can depend on the iOS version and the app.
Apple’s guide explains how to choose a data category and switch app access on or off: Control access to information in apps.

Use App Privacy Report to review activity
For a report of app activity, open Settings > Privacy & Security > App Privacy Report. Apple says it shows how apps use permissions you granted and their network activity. This is an activity report, not the screen where you revoke a specific permission. Apple also says turning off the report deletes its report data. See Apple’s App Privacy Report instructions.
Use a broad privacy reset only if you intend to reset more than this app
Apple Developer Documentation gives the path Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy. This resets location and privacy settings for all services, so it is not an app-specific alternative to changing one permission. See Apple Developer Documentation on resetting access.

Review and revoke permissions on Android
- Open your phone’s Settings and find Permission Manager. If the menu differs, search Settings for “permissions.” Android describes Permission Manager as the central place to manage sensitive app permissions.
- Choose a permission category, select the glasses companion app, and change its access. Depending on the permission and Android version, choices may include allowing access while using the app, allowing it once, or not allowing it.
- Repeat for other relevant permission categories. Do not treat a permission as necessary just because the app requests it; consider the feature you want to use.
Phone makers and Android versions may use different menu wording or paths. Android’s guide to changing app permissions describes the platform controls and possible permission choices.
Use Privacy Dashboard to inspect recent access
Open Privacy Dashboard to see recent camera, location, and microphone access. Android describes a history covering the last 24 hours. The dashboard helps you see activity; use Permission Manager to change access. Android also says it may automatically reset permissions for apps that have not been used for a while, so check the current settings rather than relying on past choices. See Android’s permission and privacy controls guide.

What may happen when you revoke access?
The result depends on the app’s implementation. Android documents that, for apps using companion-device profiles, revoking an individual permission may leave the device association intact while making some features unavailable. That documentation does not establish the behavior of every smart-glasses app. See the Android companion-device profile documentation.
For iPhone, the cited platform guidance explains how to change access but does not specify what revoking a particular permission does to a particular glasses app. After changing a permission, check the feature you care about and consult the app’s documentation if its behavior is unclear. Do not infer from the permission change alone that the glasses have been disconnected or that data already held by the app or a service has been deleted.
