Before buying NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA), examine the company’s filings, the durability and quality of its growth, its disclosed risks, and the share price against clearly stated financial assumptions. Strong business results do not, by themselves, show that a stock is attractively priced.

Start with NVIDIA’s official filings and investor resources

NVIDIA identifies its common stock as NVDA on Nasdaq. Its Investor Relations site links to financial reports, SEC filings, quarterly results, stock quotes and charts, historical prices, fundamentals, and analyst coverage. Use filings and results to understand the business; use quote tools to establish a current price, not as a substitute for analysis. NVIDIA also explains where investors can find company information in its investor FAQ.

  1. Read the latest Form 10-Q. Review the business discussion, management’s discussion and analysis, financial statements and notes, and risk factors. NVIDIA says quarterly reports are filed on Form 10-Q and directs investors to its website and SEC EDGAR.
  2. Compare it with the latest Form 10-K. The annual report provides a broader view of the business and its risks. NVIDIA’s annual reports library lists fiscal-year reports.
  3. Check the reporting periods and presentation. NVIDIA’s fiscal 2027 is a 53-week year; fiscal 2026 was 52 weeks. Both end on the last Sunday in January. Check periods and any recast segment presentation before interpreting year-over-year changes.

What NVIDIA’s latest reported results show

The latest retrieved filing is NVIDIA’s Form 10-Q for fiscal Q2 2027, the quarter ended July 26, 2026, and reported August 26, 2026. It reports the following historical results—not forecasts:

Measure Reported result Period and context
Revenue $96.2 billion, up 106% year over year NVIDIA fiscal Q2 2027; reported August 26, 2026.
Data Center revenue $89.0 billion, up 117% year over year NVIDIA fiscal Q2 2027; reported August 26, 2026.
Gross margin 75.0% NVIDIA fiscal Q2 2027; quarter ended July 26, 2026. NVIDIA attributed the year-over-year increase to improved mix from Blackwell Ultra.

NVIDIA said growth was driven by data center products for accelerated computing and AI solutions, and that Blackwell continued to account for most system shipments. The scale of Data Center revenue makes it important to assess how much overall performance depends on that business and whether demand can be sustained.

Test whether growth is durable and high-quality

Look beyond the headline revenue increase

Compare revenue growth and mix across reported platforms and periods. Examine whether demand is spread across customers and end markets; do not assume one quarter’s growth rate will continue. When comparing NVIDIA with other semiconductor companies, first check that their businesses, fiscal periods, and accounting presentations are sufficiently comparable.

Follow profitability and cash generation

Track gross and operating margins, operating expenses, cash flows, and working-capital movements alongside revenue. Review inventory provisions and purchase obligations in the filing: rapid sales growth can coexist with costs or commitments that affect future profitability and cash generation.

Compare commitments with realized demand

NVIDIA relies on third parties and reports commitments to secure supply and capacity. Assess those commitments against customer demand, delivery timing, and the possibility that customers delay deployments or reduce investment. The company says supply constraints can limit outcomes and that its demand estimates may be inaccurate.

Read risks as scenarios, not predictions

NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 Form 10-Q discusses risks that could affect revenue, margins, or the timing of results. Consider how each could matter to your expectations rather than treating the disclosure as a prediction that a particular event will occur.

  • Customer and partner execution: Results can be affected by the performance of customers and partners.
  • Export controls and regulation: NVIDIA says export controls have limited its data-center business in China. The filing also discusses regulatory inquiries.
  • Competition and technology: Assess how competition, technological development, and product acceptance could alter demand or margins.

NVIDIA states in its Form 10-Q: “Purchasing or owning NVIDIA securities involves investment risks including, but not limited to, the risks described in Item 1A of our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended January 25, 2026, Item 1A of our Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the fiscal quarter ended April 26, 2026, and below.” Read the full current risk disclosure, including factors in results releases that could cause actual outcomes to differ from forward-looking statements.

Evaluate valuation only after setting assumptions

Once you have an operating view, obtain a current share price and pair it with a dated financial measure—such as earnings or cash flow—to assess valuation. State whether the denominator is historical or forecast, which period it covers, and what assumptions underlie it. Compare more than one scenario rather than relying on a single growth projection.

NVIDIA’s investor pages provide stock quote and historical-price tools, but the reviewed company materials do not establish a current share price, market capitalization, forward earnings multiple, or consensus estimate as of October 7, 2026. Do not calculate a valuation from an old quote or treat historical reported results as a forecast. A company can grow quickly and still be a poor fit at a particular price.
