Request the refund from the store that charged you: find the transaction in that store account, check its regional rules for timing and game use, then submit through its official refund or support flow. There is no universal fighting-game refund rule, and a request is not a guarantee of approval.
Start with the seller that processed the payment
Check the payment statement, purchase receipt, and account you used. A game bought through PlayStation Store, Steam, Nintendo eShop, or Microsoft Store should be handled under that storefront’s policy. If a third-party retailer or publisher charged you instead, use that seller’s refund process; console-platform rules may not apply.

Submit the request through the store account
- Sign in to the account used for the purchase. Confirm the account matches the receipt or payment record.
- Open order or purchase history. Locate the specific game, add-on, or other item and note the purchase date. PlayStation’s official instructions use Order Details and, for an eligible transaction, the Cancel Purchase option. The instructions are on PlayStation’s Spanish-language support site: PlayStation refund request instructions.
- Check the conditions before you send the request. Note whether the game was downloaded or streamed and, if relevant, the playtime shown by the store. Decide whether you are asking because you changed your mind or because the product is faulty; those are different circumstances.
- Use the seller’s official refund or support flow. Follow the prompts for that transaction, state the reason accurately, and provide relevant evidence if available. For a fault, describe what happens and include useful details such as an error message or screenshot.
- Keep the outcome and any follow-up in writing. If the request is declined, read the stated reason and check whether the local storefront policy or your jurisdiction’s consumer rules apply.
Explain the problem accurately
If you changed your mind
Describe the request as a change-of-mind cancellation and provide the purchase details the store asks for. Eligibility depends on the relevant policy’s timing and use conditions; for example, the PlayStation US and Steam rules above use different tests.
If the game appears faulty
Give specific, verifiable details: what you expected, what happened instead, when it occurred, and any error text or screenshot that helps demonstrate the issue. PlayStation’s US policy identifies faulty content as an exception to its general exclusion for content already downloaded or streamed. That does not establish that every fault claim will be approved, and local law may also matter.

If you do not recognize the charge
An unrecognized or unauthorized charge is not the same as changing your mind or reporting a game fault. The storefront policies cited here do not establish a procedure for handling unauthorized charges. First identify which seller and account were charged, then use the appropriate official account or payment-support channel rather than describing the issue as a routine refund request.

Check the decision against the policy for the correct country and storefront, including the purchase type and the reason for the request. Store policy does not necessarily describe every right provided by local law. Valve’s EU/UK Right of Withdrawal and Steam Refunds page explains that digital-content withdrawal rights can depend on the circumstances and may end when digital content begins to be supplied under the applicable conditions. PlayStation also notes that local rights may apply.
