If you can no longer see the ad, Google also offers reporting through My Ad Center, the Ads Transparency Center, and its online report form.
Report an ad that is still visible in Google Search
- Confirm it is a Google ad. Google describes Search ads as ads shown on Google Search results pages and other Google services, including Google Shopping. Its ad-reporting process is for Google ads, not every result or third-party ad you may encounter. Google’s reporting instructions explain the process.
- Open the ad’s controls. Look for a menu or information control on the ad. The icon and label can vary by device, page surface, and language.
- Choose “Report ad.” Select the reason that best describes your concern, complete the form, and add relevant information that will help explain what you saw.
After you submit the report, Google says it will email you a confirmation and review the report. Google’s guidance says it may take appropriate action if necessary; it does not promise that a specific ad will be removed or give a review deadline.
Report an ad you saw recently but can no longer find
Use My Ad Center
Open My Ad Center, go to Your recent ads from the My Ads menu, find the ad, and select Report ad. Follow the on-screen steps to submit your report. The available labels may differ slightly across devices or languages.
Search the Ads Transparency Center
If you know the advertiser’s name or website, search for it in the Ads Transparency Center. Select the relevant ad and choose Report this ad.

Report an ad when you believe its content or presentation may violate Google’s policies. Google’s categories and examples are useful guides, but they do not establish that a particular ad has violated a rule; Google reviews each report.

Misleading claims or representations
Google’s policy guidance prohibits misleading statements or omissions about an advertiser’s identity, affiliations, or qualifications, as well as false or unrealistic claims. Examples include falsely implying an endorsement or affiliation and guaranteeing top placement in Search. See Google’s guidance on misrepresentation and misleading content.
Paid results presented as organic
Google specifically identifies failing to distinguish paid ads from organic search results as misleading. If a result appears designed to look like an ordinary, unpaid result, you can report that presentation without assuming that the advertiser or the specific ad has already been found in violation.

Google’s inappropriate-content policy covers categories including dangerous or derogatory content, sexually explicit content, child sexual abuse and exploitation, adult themes in family content, shocking content, sensitive events, animal cruelty, and hacked political materials. Its examples include harassment or threats, graphic sexual content, shocking imagery, and promotions likely to shock or scare.

Choose the closest available reason and give a concise, factual explanation of what concerned you. If the form lets you add context, describe the specific claim, image, or presentation—for example, an apparent false endorsement or a paid result that looks like an organic listing. Avoid treating your suspicion as a confirmed policy violation; Google makes that assessment during its review.
