Open the affected Instamart order in the Swiggy app and use the support options shown there to report the problem as soon as possible. If an item is missing, Swiggy’s policy says to report it through the platform before the order is marked delivered. For damaged or incomplete orders, a refund or replacement may be possible, but eligibility depends on the item’s claim window, evidence requirements, and policy review.
Report the problem through the affected order
-
Open the Swiggy app and select the Instamart order with the missing or damaged item.
-
Use the support option shown for that order and explain which item is affected and what happened. Follow the prompts currently displayed in the app.
-
If the item is damaged, describe the damage clearly. Keep the item and its packaging available, and consider taking photos in case support requests evidence. Swiggy’s public policy does not specify a universal photo requirement.

For a missing item, report it before delivery is marked complete
Swiggy’s refund policy says an item missing at delivery must be communicated to Customer Care through the platform before the order is marked delivered. If you notice an omission while the delivery is still in progress, raise it in the app rather than waiting until later. See the Swiggy refund policy.

For cash-on-delivery orders, that policy says customers are not required to pay for an order with damaged or tampered packaging, a wrong order, or missing items if they communicate the issue through the platform before the order is marked delivered. This describes Swiggy’s policy; it is not general legal advice.
Check the claim window and possible resolution
Instamart’s cancellation and refund policy lists tampered or damaged packaging, incomplete orders, and incorrect items as categories that may qualify for a refund or replacement. Claims must meet the applicable claim window shown on the product description page, provide any required evidence, and satisfy the policy conditions. The policy also says a resolution depends on merchant permission; a refund or replacement is not automatic. Read the Instamart cancellation and refund policy.

Item terms can differ. For example, one Instamart product listing says damaged or defective items may be eligible for a refund within three days, while an incorrect-item request is limited to items that are sealed, unopened, and unused. Treat that as an example for that listing, not a universal deadline or rule; check the affected product’s own description and claim terms.
