How do you save Xbox clips before they disappear?

OneDrive is a convenient cloud destination; external storage gives you a physical copy. For either option, consider whether you can access the destination after the service change and whether the files are actually available there, rather than relying only on an upload status or thumbnail. For a second copy outside the cloud, download the uploaded files from OneDrive to a computer and open them there. - Open more than one file if you transferred a large batch, including a clip and a screenshot where applicable.
- For a local computer copy of a OneDrive file, confirm it has downloaded and opens while offline.

The 90-day policy concerns captures stored on the Xbox network. It is not a reason to assume that an already verified OneDrive or external-storage copy will disappear at the same time. How do Xbox One and Series X|S game saves stay backed up?

Before changing consoles or removing local data
- Use the account and console that contain the latest progress. Confirm which profile played the game and which device was used most recently.
- Reconnect and launch the relevant game. If you recently played offline, let the console connect and allow any indicated save synchronization to finish before switching devices.
- Read any sync prompt carefully. If the console indicates that another device has a newer or unsynchronized save, compare the device and timestamp information before choosing an option. Do not dismiss a conflict just to get into the game.
- Verify progress on the destination console. Launch the game under the same account and check that the expected recent progress appears before deleting data or resetting the original console.

In 2015, Xbox said an Xbox 360 system update supported external USB hard drives up to 2 TB for downloads, profiles, saved games, and other data. Will the Xbox 360 Store closure delete Xbox 360 saves?
