To print quotation marks in Python, put the string in the other kind of quote marks, or escape a matching quote with a backslash. For example, print('She said "hello"') displays She said "hello". Use triple quotes when the text spans lines or contains many quotes.
Choose a delimiter that differs from the quote inside
Python string literals can be enclosed in single or double quotation marks. The character that opens the literal also closes it, so an unescaped matching quote inside would end the string. When the text contains only one kind of quote, the simplest option is usually to use the other kind around the literal:
print('She said "hello"')
print("That’s a simple example")Both calls display their string contents, including the quotation marks where present. print() does not add the string’s enclosing quotes to its output. The Python tutorial’s text section describes using the other quotation-mark type as an alternative to escaping.
Escape a quote that matches the delimiter
If the text contains the same quote character used to delimit the literal, place a backslash before that quote:

print('It's ready')The backslash prevents the matching quote from ending the literal; it is not printed as part of the quote mark. In an ordinary string literal, backslashes also introduce escape sequences. For example, n represents a newline, not two visible characters consisting of a backslash and the letter n. Python’s string-literal reference documents the delimiter and escape rules.
Use triple quotes for multiline or quote-heavy text
Three matching single or double quotes can enclose a string that spans lines. This can also make text containing the other quote character easier to read:

print(message)The matching triple delimiter closes the literal, so three consecutive unescaped delimiter characters inside the text will end it. See the Python language reference for the full literal syntax.
Raw strings do not change quote-delimiter rules
A raw string prefix changes how backslashes are processed; it does not let a quote matching the opening delimiter appear unescaped. Raw strings also cannot end with an odd number of backslashes, because the final backslash would escape the closing quote. Use a raw string when you need backslashes preserved, not simply to print quotation marks. The raw string literal documentation explains this restriction.

Understand why the prompt may show quotes
Printing a string and inspecting its representation are different operations. The interactive prompt displays a representation, and repr() explicitly returns an interpreter-oriented representation with quotes and escapes as needed:
s = 'hellon'
print(s) # writes hello and then a line break
print(repr(s)) # displays the representation 'hello\n'Use print() to show readable string contents; use repr() when debugging how a value is represented. The representation may choose a quote style that makes a valid representation, so it is not necessarily the output that print() produces. See Python’s fancier output formatting tutorial.
