To print a webpage in Chrome on a computer, open the page and choose File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux or Command+P on Mac. Select a destination, adjust the available options, and click Print. On Android, use More > Share > Print. On iPhone or iPad, use Share > View more > Print and select an AirPrint printer.
The exact choices depend on your device, printer, Chrome policies, and whether you want paper or a PDF. The steps below cover each route and the most common problems.
Print a webpage from Chrome on Windows, Linux, or Mac
- Open Chrome and load the webpage, image, or document.
- Open the print dialog with File > Print. You can also press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- Choose a destination. A physical printer, a PDF destination, or another option supplied by your system may appear.
- Set the options available for that destination, such as pages, copies, orientation, paper size, margins, color, and scale.
- Click Print (or the destination’s equivalent, such as Save when creating a PDF).
Chrome’s available settings change with the selected destination and printer driver. If a setting is missing, check the printer manufacturer’s setup instructions; Google directs desktop users to the manufacturer for printer configuration (Google’s computer instructions).
Use the keyboard shortcut
Ctrl+P opens printing on Windows and Linux. Command+P does the same on macOS. These shortcuts work while the page is open in Chrome and avoid hunting through menus.

Print only selected pages
In the preview, enter a page range instead of printing all pages. For example, enter 2-4 for a continuous range or individual pages in the format shown by your operating system’s dialog. Preview thumbnails help you check that advertisements, blank pages, or navigation elements are not consuming paper.
Fix clipped or oversized content
- Try Landscape for wide tables.
- Reduce the scale slightly if the right edge is cut off.
- Use narrower margins when the printer supports them.
- For a long article, inspect the preview for missing lazy-loaded images before committing to paper.
Save the webpage as a PDF instead of printing paper
On desktop, choose a PDF destination in the print window, then select Save and choose a folder. This creates a PDF of the print layout rather than sending pages to a printer. The exact destination name depends on your operating system and installed software.
Google also documents saving to Google Drive from print preview when the Save to Google Drive extension is installed. That extension is not automatically present in every Chrome installation. Google describes alternatives that use Drive for desktop or saving a PDF first and uploading it through the Drive website (desktop print documentation).
Save the webpage itself, not its print layout
Save Page As is a different command. It stores the webpage and its associated resources locally; it does not send the print-formatted version to a printer. Use Chrome’s documented download route when you need an offline copy of the page rather than a paper-like PDF (Save or download a page).

Print from Chrome on Android
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then tap Share.
- Choose Print from the share options.
- Expand the print settings if necessary, select a printer, and set copies, pages, color, orientation, or paper options offered by that printer.
- Tap Print.
Your printer must be able to receive the job over Wi-Fi or a mobile network. If you want a PDF, select Save as PDF as the destination, then choose where to store the file. Google’s Android directions cover these labels and requirements (Chrome Help for Android).
When Print is not shown in the Share sheet
Swipe through the available share actions or tap the option that reveals more actions. Android’s share sheet can vary by phone maker and installed print services. If no print destination appears after opening the full list, install or enable the print service supplied by your printer maker and retry.
Print from Chrome on iPhone or iPad
- Open the page in Chrome for iOS or iPadOS.
- Tap Share.
- Tap View more, then choose Print.
- Select an available printer, set the options, and tap Print.
Google identifies AirPrint as the printing method for Chrome on iPhone and iPad. The iPhone or iPad and printer generally need to be available to the same local network, and the printer must support AirPrint (Chrome Help for iPhone and iPad).
If you need a digital copy on iOS
The cited Chrome iOS instructions describe the AirPrint path and do not establish a universal Chrome menu for saving the print preview as a PDF. If you only need a file, use an iOS share action or a PDF workflow provided by the app or printer system that you have available, then verify the resulting file before deleting the original page.

Choose the right output and destination

A PDF preserves a print-oriented layout; Save Page As preserves webpage files. Neither guarantees that interactive elements, paywalled content, or content loaded only after interaction will appear exactly as it does on screen.
Troubleshoot Chrome printing problems
No printer appears
- On a computer, confirm the printer is installed in the operating system and powered on. Follow the printer maker’s setup instructions before reopening Chrome’s print dialog.
- On Android, verify that the printer can receive jobs over Wi-Fi or a mobile network and that the relevant print service is enabled.
- On iPhone or iPad, confirm the printer supports AirPrint and is reachable from the device.
The page prints blank or missing sections
Look at the preview before printing. A page that relies on scripts, delayed images, or an authenticated session may not have finished rendering. Wait for the page to finish loading, scroll through the relevant sections once, and reopen the preview. If the preview is still wrong, try the site’s own print view or save a PDF after the content is visibly complete.
Layout is cut off or creates unexpected pages
Change orientation, scale, margins, or the selected paper size. Wide tables often need landscape orientation. Use the preview’s page thumbnails to identify the exact break instead of repeatedly printing test copies.
Chrome says printing is disabled
Chrome can be managed by a business, school, or other administrator. Policies may disable printing, restrict destinations, or alter print-preview behavior. Check whether the browser displays a managed notice; if it does, ask the administrator to review the applicable Chrome policy (Chrome Enterprise and Education policy documentation).

The printer receives the job but nothing comes out
Check the printer’s own queue, paper, ink or toner, and error indicators. If other applications also fail, the problem is outside Chrome. If only this page fails, return to preview and test a small page range or a PDF destination to separate rendering problems from printer connectivity.

Can I print a webpage without opening Chrome’s menu?
Yes. On Windows/Linux press Ctrl+P; on Mac press Command+P. Mobile Chrome uses its Share flow instead of a desktop keyboard shortcut.
Will Chrome print videos and interactive controls?
Print output is based on the page’s print layout, so interactive controls may be omitted or represented differently. Check the preview and use a site-provided print view when available.
Why does my PDF look different from the screen?
PDF output uses print CSS, page size, margins, scale, and loaded content. A responsive screen layout is not necessarily the same as the print layout.
Can an administrator prevent printing?
Yes. Managed Chrome policies can disable printing or restrict destinations. Contact the administrator for a work or school browser.

How do I prevent a URL or date from appearing on paper?
