On an iPhone or iPad, take a Safari screenshot, tap its thumbnail, choose Full Page, and save it as a PDF to Files. Open that PDF and use the system Print command. On a Mac, use File > Print for paper or a PDF. The right method depends on whether you need the whole page beyond the phone screen, a printable document, or a saved copy of the webpage.
Choose the Safari workflow that fits your device
| Device and goal | Use this method | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone or iPad; capture the page beyond the visible screen | Safari screenshot > Full Page | A full-page PDF saved to Files |
| iPhone or iPad; add annotations before saving | Safari Page Menu > Share > Markup | A webpage PDF that you can annotate and print |
| Mac; print the webpage or save it as a PDF | Safari File > Print | A paginated printout or PDF, controlled by the print dialog |
| Mac; keep a browsable saved copy rather than print | Safari File > Save As | A Web Archive or HTML page source, not a printed screenshot |
Apple documents Full Page capture on iPhone and iPad as a way to capture content beyond the screen, including a Safari webpage. Menu names and availability can vary by device and operating-system version. If you do not see Full Page, use the Share and Markup route or print from a Mac.
Print an entire Safari webpage on iPhone or iPad
This route captures a long webpage as a PDF, then sends the PDF to a printer. It is the most direct option when the ordinary screenshot only shows the visible portion of the page.
- Open the webpage in Safari. Wait for the main content you want to preserve to appear.
- Take a screenshot using your device buttons. The button combination depends on the iPhone or iPad model.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail while it is still visible to open the screenshot editor.
- Tap Full Page. Review the tall, scrollable preview to confirm the capture extends through the page content you need.
- Save the capture as a PDF. Tap the save control and choose Save PDF to Files, then select a folder and save.
- Open the saved PDF in Files. Tap Share, choose Print, select an AirPrint printer, set copies and page range, and send the job.
The Full Page result is a PDF in Files, not a standard image saved to Photos. That matters if you intend to print: open and print the PDF rather than looking for a long PNG in your photo library. Before confirming, check the printer and page range; a full webpage can span multiple sheets.
#1 Best Overall
Review the capture before printing
- Scroll through the PDF preview to check that the beginning and end of the content are present.
- If the page contains material that appears only after scrolling, scroll through the webpage first, allow it to load, and then capture again if needed.
- Use the print page range when you need only selected pages from a long PDF.
Save an annotated Safari webpage PDF on iPhone or iPad
Use this alternative if you want to mark up the webpage before printing. Apple documents a Safari Page Menu and Share sequence that opens Markup and lets you save the result as a file.
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Tap the Page Menu button, then tap Share.
- Choose Markup.
- Add annotations if needed, then tap Done.
- Choose Save File To and select where to store the PDF.
- Open the saved PDF and use its Share menu to choose Print.
Choose this path for a shareable or annotated PDF. If your priority is explicitly a scrolling screenshot of the whole page, use the Full Page option in the screenshot editor instead.
Print or save a Safari webpage on Mac
On a Mac, Safari’s print command is the straightforward way to produce paper or a PDF. A Mac printout is laid out across ordinary pages; it is not a guarantee that an arbitrarily long webpage will fit on one continuous physical sheet.
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Choose File > Print.
- In the system print dialog, choose a physical printer for paper, or use the PDF option to save a PDF.
- Review scale, orientation, margins, background graphics, and page range before printing or saving.
Use the preview to see where Safari’s page breaks fall. Adjusting scale or orientation may improve the fit, but a long page normally remains divided across printed pages. If the actual need is a one-piece record of the page for later reference rather than paper, save a PDF instead.

When a saved webpage is better than a printout
Choose File > Save As when you want to preserve webpage material rather than print it immediately. Safari’s Web Archive format saves graphics and links with the page. Page Source saves only the HTML. Neither is the same as a printed screenshot: use Print or a PDF when you need a document ready to send to a printer.
Why Safari may seem to print only the visible page
A normal screenshot records the screen area currently displayed. On iPhone and iPad, the screenshot editor’s Full Page tab is the option intended to extend capture beyond that visible area. It saves as a PDF, which you then print from Files. On Mac, use File > Print and inspect the print preview rather than relying on a screen screenshot.
If Full Page is missing, first confirm that you opened the screenshot thumbnail from Safari and that the screenshot editor offers the Full Page tab. If the control is unavailable on your device or in your current software, the Share > Markup PDF route is an alternative, or use Safari’s Mac print workflow. Exact labels can change between operating-system releases.
Fix common capture and printing problems
The screenshot editor has no Full Page tab
Make sure the screenshot was taken while Safari was displaying the webpage, then tap its thumbnail before it disappears. If Full Page still is not offered, use Page Menu > Share > Markup to make a PDF, or print from Safari on a Mac.
The PDF is missing content or stops too early
Inspect the scrollable Full Page preview before saving. For pages that reveal images or other content as you scroll, scroll through the relevant sections and allow them to load, then take a fresh screenshot. If the Share and Markup route better matches the document you need, try that PDF path and check its result before printing.
The printout is split across several pages
That is normal for a long webpage. Review the print preview, then adjust scale, orientation, margins, or page range to suit the paper and printer. The documented Mac workflow does not establish a way to force any arbitrarily long webpage onto one continuous physical sheet.
Print is not available or no printer appears
On iPhone or iPad, first open the saved PDF in Files and tap Share to reach the system print command. For a physical print job, choose an AirPrint printer; confirm that the printer model supports AirPrint and is available to your device. Printer support varies by model and region, so check the printer maker’s current compatibility information if it does not appear.
The saved Mac file is not ready to print
If you chose Web Archive or Page Source, you saved webpage material rather than a print-ready capture. Return to Safari and use File > Print, selecting a printer or the PDF option in the dialog.

If you are a developer who needs a full-page capture of a public URL rather than a printout of the page already open in Safari, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It can return a screenshot or PDF; this example requests a WebP screenshot. It captures the URL you supply, so it is not a way to print Safari’s current tab with its local state.
Install cURL, then run this request with your ScreenshotNeo API key:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot, page-info, and PDF-capture tools. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up for free and try 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I send the full-page PDF to someone instead of printing it?
Yes. The saved PDF is a file in Files, so you can use the file’s Share controls to send or store it without printing.
