Play Psikyo games on Nintendo Switch 2 with the Nintendo Switch editions of Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha or Psikyo Shooting Stars Bravo. Nintendo lists both collections as supported on Switch 2, with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch. Choose between them by the games you want: Alpha has the Strikers 1945 games, while Bravo includes Gunbird and the Samurai Aces games.
Which Psikyo collection should you choose?
Alpha and Bravo are separate six-game Nintendo Switch collections, not two versions of the same lineup. Nintendo’s listings identify both as supported on Switch 2.
| Collection | Included games |
|---|---|
| Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha | Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 II, Strikers 1945 III, Sol Divide, Dragon Blaze, and Zero Gunner 2. Nintendo US listing. |
| Psikyo Shooting Stars Bravo | Samurai Aces Episode I, Samurai Aces Episode II: Tengai, Samurai Aces Episode III: Sengoku Cannon, Gunbarich, Gunbird, and Gunbird 2. Nintendo Canada listing. |
If you are looking for Strikers 1945, choose Alpha. For Gunbird or the Samurai Aces series, choose Bravo. Check the Nintendo store for your account’s region for the relevant edition and current availability.
How to install and start playing
- Select a collection: Use the lineup above to decide whether you want Alpha or Bravo.
- Get the Nintendo Switch edition: Find it through Nintendo’s store for your region or a retailer. Install the digital edition on Switch 2, or insert a compatible game card if you have a physical copy. The Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility information and the individual collection listings describe compatibility; they do not establish current physical stock.
- Choose a play mode: Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld modes for both collections. Use whichever fits your setup.
- Try TATE mode for vertical play: Both product descriptions call out vertical TATE mode, intended to present the shooters in a classic vertical orientation. The listings do not give a menu-by-menu setup sequence, so consult the game’s own options rather than relying on an assumed button path.
Nintendo’s UK listings say multiplayer requires one compatible controller per player and that additional controllers may be needed. Nintendo’s US Alpha and Canada Bravo listings specify one to two players on one system. These details do not indicate that a dedicated arcade stick is required for ordinary play.

What Switch 2 compatibility means
Nintendo’s US listing for Alpha and Canada listing for Bravo give each the status “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That is a compatibility statement, not an announcement of a native Switch 2 edition or Switch 2-specific enhancements. Nintendo advises checking individual game compatibility because some Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible.
The official pages establish compatibility and the game lineups, but do not provide Switch 2 measurements for input latency, frame pacing, or image quality. They therefore do not establish that Switch 2 improves input lag or that one collection performs better than the other.

Storage and regional listings
Listed storage differs by storefront: Nintendo’s US Alpha listing gives a 640 MB file size, and its Australian listing also gives 640 MB. Nintendo Australia lists 1.0 GB of required space for Bravo. These are region-specific storefront figures, not a universal comparison of the collections’ installed sizes. Check the current Nintendo store page for your account’s region before downloading.
Nintendo Australia notes that Switch 2 uses microSD Express cards for expanded storage. The collection listings do not establish that an expansion card is necessary; whether you need one depends on your available console storage and other installed games.
