Campaign co-op support varies by entry. The following counts and play modes are stated in the reviewed official game pages and store listings; they are not a complete compatibility chart for every release or edition.

Play campaign co-op in split-screen
Split-screen means local play together on one supported console, rather than separate players connecting from different locations. For Reloaded, the Xbox listing identifies local co-op and split-screen support; campaign split-screen is limited to supported console versions, not PC or handhelds.
- Check the specific game’s store listing for local co-op or split-screen support on your platform and edition.
- Connect a second compatible controller to the console. Controller requirements depend on the platform and setup.
- Choose the campaign co-op option in the game. The official sources confirm the capability but do not specify a universal menu-by-menu sequence, so labels may differ by game or installed build.
Play campaign co-op online
Online campaign co-op is separate from competitive Versus multiplayer. In Reloaded, the campaign supports two players; the up-to-eight-player figure applies to Versus, not the campaign. The Coalition’s Xbox Wire announcement dated May 5, 2025, also says the game supports cross-play across platforms.

- For cross-platform invites or cross-progression in Reloaded, sign in with a Microsoft account. Xbox Wire says a Microsoft account is not required for basic play.
On Xbox consoles, online multiplayer requires a qualifying Xbox Game Pass subscription—Essential, Premium, or Ultimate—sold separately, according to the Xbox Wire announcement. Check current platform terms before playing, as subscription requirements can change.

Do not assume that a feature available in one Gears release also applies to another. Verify the exact product listing for legacy games, especially before relying on split-screen, cross-play, player counts, or current online service behavior. Reloaded is the current remaster of the original game covered here, but its PC and handheld versions do not support campaign split-screen.
