Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo personalize Apple News, follow the topics and channels you want, use Suggest More or Suggest Less on individual stories, and block channels or topics you do not want to see. These controls do different jobs: following adds interests, story feedback tunes similar recommendations, and blocking suppresses a source or topic. For a more tightly limited feed, iPhone and iPad also offer Restrict Stories in Today, with a significant tradeoff in variety.
Follow the topics and channels you want
In Apple News, publications are called channels. Search for a channel or topic and follow it to tell News what you want to read. Apple says followed channels and topics appear in Today.
-
Open the News app and search for a publication or subject.
-
Open the channel or topic and choose the follow control.

Look for followed interests in the Today feed.
Apple describes the recommendation loop this way: “The more you read, the better Siri understands what’s important to you and suggests stories you might like.” That is Apple’s description of the feature, not a measured guarantee about recommendation accuracy. See Apple’s iPhone News guide.
Choose the right control for a story or source
Apple News has separate controls for a story’s similarity, an unwanted suggested group, and all stories associated with a channel or topic. Pick the narrowest control that matches what you want to change.

Give feedback on similar stories
In Today, open the More Actions control beneath a headline and choose Suggest More or Suggest Less. Use this when the source may be fine but you want more or fewer stories like that particular one.
Stop an unwanted suggestion without blocking it
Use Stop Suggesting on a suggested channel or topic group when you want that group removed from Today but do not want to block all stories from the source or subject. Apple documents the option for Mac; the exact controls can vary by device and software version. On Mac, Apple says searching for and following the channel or topic again can restore its suggestions. See Apple’s Mac News guide.

Block a channel or topic
To suppress a source or subject more broadly, use its More Actions control and choose Block. Apple says blocked stories are suppressed from Today and widgets. A blocked channel’s headline may still appear in editor-curated Top Stories, so blocking is not a promise that every trace of that channel disappears. You can manage blocked items and unblock them; see Apple’s instructions for blocking and unblocking channels and topics.
Use Favorites to organize preferred sources
Favorites can hold followed channels and topics, and you can reorder them for easier access. Apple limits how many items you can add. Treat Favorites as an organization and access aid, not a filter that removes other stories from Today. The controls for Today are described in Apple’s iPhone Today guide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Decide whether to restrict Stories in Today
On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apps > News and turn on Restrict Stories in Today. Apple says this limits Today to followed channels. It also significantly reduces variety and removes Top Stories and Trending Stories.

Check availability and device differences
Apple News, Apple News+, local news, and some features vary by region. The interface and available controls may also differ with device and software version, so a setting described for one device may not appear the same way on another. Check Apple’s regional News availability information if News or a feature is missing where you live. Apple News+ provides additional publications and features where available; it is not required to follow interests or give story feedback.
